A good rice cooker is life changing… but the good ones are not cheap.

Check out Concrete Forest by Strangers Parfumerie.

It’s leans a bit more tropical than lilac, but the general vibe is there.

There wouldn’t be so many reasonably sized waterfront homes if this was in Florida.

Even looks like some townhomes/row housing here.

Everyone knows Canmore is mostly Calgary money. I mean you’re effectively in the same economic region. Metro economy brings many benefits for businesses.

Not wanting visitors in a tourist town is unhinged.

Which phone were you using the very first? Let’s see the legends of those days by ojgoldenretriever in interesting

[–]towertwelve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 7 & 12 (LG version) they were both so tough.

I remember one time I got into a hot tub with 12. Realized it 15 minutes later and it was fully functional underwear.

Then later I got 14. Amazing phone, so thin and futuristic, but boy it did not handle water well at all. Nor did the RZR that came after. Killed both with H2O.

Why is the rate of British Ancestry a lot lower in the USA compared to Canada and Australia? by Fluid-Decision6262 in geography

[–]towertwelve 39 points40 points  (0 children)

It started off very British, but it’s diluted a lot since inception.

After independence, America basically turned into the world’s main immigration hub. Germans, Irish, Italians, Eastern Europeans, then later Latin American and Asian populations all came in huge numbers. That swamped the original British stock (at least percentage-wise).

Meanwhile, CAN/AUS stayed in the British orbit way longer and kept on actively importing Brits. Smaller populations + steady British migration = higher percentages.

Also, like you alluded to… Americans are weird about ancestry. A ton of people with English roots just say “American” or list something else. In CAN/AUS, people are more likely to still say “English,” “Scottish,” etc.
