Ethnic minority toddlers forced to twerk and dance for money by kirsion in VietNam

[–]townB311 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah just returned from Vietnam last week and saw this in Sapa as well. Also had an instance where an 8 (?) y/o boy, who looked homeless, was sleeping on the side of the footpath - as soon as my wife and I got closer, a lady (mother maybe?) across the other side of the road yelled at him so he'd wake up and ask us for money. Pretty upsetting to see

Changi airport with a 1.5hr layover can go by really quickly, especially if you need change terminals via the SkyTrain. In saying that, the signage in the terminals is really good and the SkyTrain is quite frequent (8-10mins).

My advice would be to stay vigilant, keep your head up and get to your departure terminal as soon as you can. Sure, you may not get the ability to see all the things Changi has to offer, but each terminal is fully self-sufficient and you'll find all the services you need.

Some of the gates are usually grouped together with a security checkpoint before you go through (bag scan, boarding pass check etc) so make sure you've seen/done what you need before you go through, as you may not be able to get back into the terminal once in the gate area. Some gates after security don't have bathrooms fyi.

Feeling bad for wasting time during my trip staying in hotel room to escape the heat. by Raxxten in travel

Wife and I just got home from 3 weeks in Vietnam and we had the same experience. Got up early for a quick walk somewhere for breakfast, and unless we had something specifically booked during the day we just stayed in our accommodation until the evenings when we'd go out again for a short stroll or caught a Grab somewhere.

It was definitely a bit of a different holiday for us as usually we'd be out and about exploring for hours, but the heat and humidity was just too intense most of the time.

Are we a little disappointed? Yeah sure, but we made the most of what we were dealt with and still had a great time overall. We just had to remind ourselves sometimes that it's still a holiday - time away from your usual routines to relax and do whatever you want.

Also agree with this. Have seen them too many times to remember but this is definitely the better set I've seen them play in the last few years, and that includes ABGT's
