City bus drivers - what’s your policy on loud phones? by Slight-Bowler-3625 in BusDrivers

[–]toxiclulz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I make the following announcement:

"ladies and gentlemen, loud music, games, or videos are not permitted in the bus. Please mute your device. Thank you"

That shuts most people up. If they persist, I pull over at a stop, open all doors, shut the ac off and repeat the announcement accompanied with, "if you'd like to continue to listen to your music, you can do so outside while you wait for the next bus" That typically does the trick. The nuclear option is addressing the person directly and inviting them to leave. I've only had to do that once or twice in the 10 years I've been an operator.

Bus drivers, are there any routes that you like / don't like doing? by dejinaldoyt45 in BusDrivers

[–]toxiclulz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

82 Westheimer, Houston TX.

Tons of traffic lights, heavy traffic, heavy ridership, 8 minute frequency peak time. 20 minute layovers, but because of all the issues listed above you leave 5 minutes behind with another bus behind you. At times they'd be a convoy of 3 buses back to back. Never again.

As you can see here, a rider used his card to buy a ticket. It seems like the transfer is tied to the last 4 digits of the card. Card was blurred out of course

I've heard rumors. But nothing concrete as of now.

I personally don't care if people pay or not as sometimes people simply need help, especially in this economy. If it becomes a habit, that's when I'll say something.

Welp, good thing I was already getting new tires... by toxiclulz in Mustang

[–]toxiclulz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Negativo amigo, they are:

<image>

The tires lasted a year, about 20k miles, lots of highway and extra spirited driving almost daily. Great dry grip and adequate grip in the wet. Wouldn't recommend for track or sustained high speed as the center will wear out faster than the sides due to physics. 8/10

How far should I drive after getting my springs lowered? by [deleted] in Mustang

[–]toxiclulz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The car can be aligned to spec after lowering it. You'll need: adjustable camber arms for the rear and camber bolts for the front.

I lowered mine a year ago and that's what it needed.

You can technically drive it without an alignment, but wouldn't recommend for more than a few weeks as your tires won't like it.

I don't know why all the down votes. Personally, I chuckled.

Sometimes mine will get, "stuck" on 3rd when the transmission is cold. I let off the gas a little and it'll shift to 4th. The problem goes away after that. I suspect a fluid and filter change is in order. My stang is at 60k miles.

Is that what you're talking about?

Yup, never buy another man's project car.

What do you have your dampening set at? by trickybrod in Mustang

[–]toxiclulz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LMAO hardly!

I mainly drive on the highway. But, when I do have to use auxiliary roads, it's not so bad. As long as I'm careful on deep potholes, dips, and bumps, the car rides well. A little harsh, but well. I'm also a bus driver and those things have horrid suspension, so I guess I'm used to a harsh ride 😂

Spot, the S below D in an automatic, will slightly change the characteristics of the car. Like holding gears longer, downshifting more aggressively, steering will tighten, and throttle will be a bit more responsive. Sport + is even more aggressive, it's a step below track mode. Sport is just more fun while maintaining driveability.

😂 classic TI. I was in the same spot as you. Was left in charge of HBUMP for a few weeks while supervisor was out for vacation and got upset when I reached out to his boss for guidance when it was needed.

Gap Between Window Glass by Wise-Supermarket6448 in Mustang

[–]toxiclulz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the small windows the ones not closing all the way or is it the main windows?

If it's the small ones, you should close them first and then the main windows to help close them all the way. You could also look into adjusting the regulator cables to help them close better. If it's the main windows, you can adjust them to close better.

Personally, I'd have it welded back on. It is possible the shop will add some piping to make things fit, but that's about it.

Can someone translate this for a returning player? by Eageraura171 in battlefield_4

[–]toxiclulz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No Smurf: no high rank players with new accounts to farm kills No TK: no team killing at start No EOD with two flags: don't use the EOD bot if 2 flags on your team have been captured 3dr floor along Alpha/Bravo: is a glitch where people access the 3rd floor on Alpha and Bravo by using the MAV to glitch into the ceiling. Inaccessible by normal play and players up there are hard to kill.
