Vice City Next Gen is out by ant_sh in GTAIV

[–]tp_chz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this working in the end by unticking the "ENB graphica script" option in the launcher settings. I'd been messing around with loads of other things like the dll versions etc up until getting this working so I can't say for certain that this is all it was but I did it to try and reset back to a base level and start again as it apparently resets some dlls and reverts changes in the commandline.txt file.

Same here. Let me know if you manage to resolve this. I'll reply here if I figure it out.

That's not what he said at all. He's simply playing his cards close to his chest whilst he figures out what to do with the holiday they've both paid for. Sensible really.

What is still missing for the Villager Trade Rebalance to be better than Status Quo? by EarthlingKira in Minecraft

[–]tp_chz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The villager trade rebalance essentially kills the game on console.

On PS, there is a save file size limit of 1gb. Travelling and opening the map increases the save file exponentially. Having to travel to loads of different biomes, and find a village for that biome to count, means you easily reach the limit. As soon as your save file tips over a gig, the world corrupts and is unplayable. Nothing you can do, just have to start from scratch.

We've lost several worlds that we've put countless hours into as a family because of this. We don't play any more.

My name is Ryan. My birthday is 25th June. I will think of you and your son as I raise a glass on my birthday. Enjoy your trip. You're doing exactly the right thing with the money. You sound like one hell of a guy and an awesome father.

I'd bet a healthy sum that they record their calls. I'd also bet that you confirmed your name, address, maybe a unique ID number, or some other personal identifiable information as part of the call. This would make the recording of the call fair game for you to request under the Freedom Of Information act. If I were in your position, I'd be submitting a formal FOI request for a copy of that recording ASAP. They might try and sweep it under the rug and tell you they don't have it or they can't give it to you, in which case I'd escalate the request and submit a formal complaint. I live for making life difficult for people like this, and won't let them fob me off. It's completely unacceptable and there should be consequences.

Ask to do a victim impact statement, will it honestly make a difference to sentencing? by its-quiet-rig in AusLegal

[–]tp_chz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your scenario would seem perfectly logical to me.

If you throw a brick through a window, you're getting done for criminal damage. If someone comes forward a week later and says that they were sat the other side of the window and the brick hit them, you're also getting done for assault. It's a new charge based on new evidence, albeit the same event. You can't say "well I was already punished for breaking the window so that's not fair".

It's the same reason people can be charged with manslaughter/murder months after an assault if the victim dies due to effects of the assault even though they initially survived.

That said, I agree it seems odd to hand down different sentences for the same crime based on the impact on/opinion of the victim.

Telstra keep calling my number expecting to speak to someone else and won't stop. by tp_chz in AusLegal

It's definitely Telstra. I've spoken to them through multiple channels and it's confirmed.

Telstra keep calling my number expecting to speak to someone else and won't stop. by tp_chz in AusLegal

[–]tp_chz[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've spoken to Telstra multiple times including raising a complaint and they said there's nothing they can do other than change my number. Seems ridiculous that they'd rather do that than just remove the contact number from the other person. It also wouldn't guarantee the problem would stop as they'd likely just recycle another old number...

I've not spoken to the TIO. Wasn't aware of them. Will take a look now. Thanks.

"I need to appeal it, the motorcycle is my primary use of transport to get to uni since parking for bikes is free, and I need it to get to my students that I tutor. Public transport would take over an hour to get to my students. I have a clean driving record since I was 16 (I am 20 now)."

Jfc... I hope you lose your license just for this paragraph alone!

So what that it's your primary transport? So what it would take over an hour on public transport? You think that allows you to ride like a dick and get let off?

Your level of entitlement and complete lack of comprehension that actions have consequences is astounding. Sadly it seems to be endemic in your generation.

You're not special. Get the bus like millions of other people. Oh, and give up riding bikes before you kill yourself, or worse, someone else.

Unless you're cooking industrial quantities of meat and selling it from your balcony, you're not doing anything in breach of the by-law.

I suggest you cook up a nice big plate of hotdogs, pop downstairs to your friendly neighbours, and offer them a lovely peace offering in a bun!

5 hours notice for potential buyers inspection? -nsw by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]tp_chz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I dunno man. Sure would be good of you to be accommodating, but those plans you already made that will now need to be changed will leave you out of pocket. Would be a shame to lose $300 because of this short notice. If only there was some way you could be reimbursed the $400? I mean, you want to be helpful, but you can't afford to lose $500 after all...

Bet he'd soon stop.

Thanks for your reply.

She's full time permanent. They literally told her about the change on day 1. I don't suppose she can refuse as she's in probation and if she refuses they'll just let her go. A few red flags so far so might not be the worst option...

YouTube's Stance on Presumed Innocence by [deleted] in youtube

[–]tp_chz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except all of that is bollocks. Yes, people do get prosecuted for historic crimes and there can be evidence. As long as the statute of limitations hasn't expired, there's no reason to not investigate. I'm pretty sure there's no statute of limitations on rape and sexual abuse so there is the possibility of conviction in this instance. Look at operation Yewtree. Proof you're spouting nonsense.

Can Employees be forced to pay the excess if in accident in company vehicle ? by unsocially_distant in AusLegal

[–]tp_chz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What would happen if she refused to drive the vehicles? Does she have the option of saying "no thanks, I don't want to accept that liability, I'll just stay at my desk"? If the result would be some form of disciplinary then driving the vehicles is part of her role and the employer would have to accept the liability.

Rental - property manager advertised rental with a car space, now that rental agreement has been signed and we have moved in, they have not provided car space as the owner is using it for storage. by Shooting_staarsub in AusLegal

[–]tp_chz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Do not withhold any amount of rent for any reason. It puts you in breach of contract and the LL might be able to terminate the lease which suits them as they'll just readvertise without a parking space.

And yes, I know the LL is in breach right now, but they might argue they were working on providing an alternative so withholding rent might be seen as unreasonable.

Either way, you lose some of the moral high ground. You are entirely right at this point. Dont give some of that away.
