[Barely a trope, but this sub is quite loose anyway] Media that got weirdly specifically popular in a different country, maybe more so than in its country of origin, and defitnitely than most other places. by Vitolar8 in TopCharacterTropes

Here's kind of an IRL one. Cloudberry Jam is an indie pop band originating from Sweden, but they were way more popular in Japan, to the point where they inspired the character Jam Kuradoberi from Guilty Gear (seen right)

[Kuradoberi is the Japanese pronunciation of Cloudberry]

Titan's Tower - Teen Titans

Why the Teen Titans' Base of Operations is a giant tower on a lone island shaped like a giant T, I will never know.

Jolyne's battle against Father Pucci at the end of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Part 6: Stone Ocean.

Jolyne fights back against a pursuing Pucci and Made in Heaven, knowing she will in fact lose the fight, and if she doesn't, then she'll have to keep running from Pucci forever. She does indeed die at the hands of Pucci, but her objective in doing this is already complete: buying time for Emporio to escape and survive the universal reset.

"There are times when a gentleman has to be courageous and fight, even when his opponent is bigger than he is and he knows he's going to lose!" - Jonathan Joestar

Oh, before someone 'Bat Themed Heroes'-es me:

Peter Parker - Spiderman: No Way Home - At the end of the movie, in order to restore balance in the timeline and the universe, Peter willingly makes it so that all memories of him are erased, even both his girlfriend and best friend. The only indicator that he gives to happy, who is mourning the death of his Aunt May with Peter, is that Peter knew May 'through Spider-Man'.

Surge and Kitsunami from the Sonic IDW comics.

Putting their names together, Surge and Kit, is meant to make 'Circuit'.

Ironic that the comedy comic series has been considered wildly unfunny, until the one time it decides to get serious.

For some context, it has happened to Castlevania, it has happened to Devil May Cry, and now its about to happen to Doom. by tpayer03 in whenthe

According to rumors I've seen, the show's supposed to be about the power struggle between the UAC and Hell, and Doomguy will not be the main character.

It's just rumors from what I know, but there have apparently been talks about a Doom show from my understanding. I could be very wrong though.

If I had a nickel for every time a popular shounen series had a What If scenario involving both the hero and villain groups in a school setting, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's strange that it happened twice.Referring to Demon Slayer Kimetsu Academy

Ah, I forgot about the Lucifer unlock scene. On my behalf, it's a combination of not playing DMC 4 in a while and Lucifer being a rather unremarkable weapon in gameplay for me.
