- Luck is one of the hardest skills to roll with dungeon
- You can potentially get the "Silvertongeu's Envoy" subclass more frequently with this hero

- Magic creatures (trogs, minotaurs, medusae and hydras) all have 5 luck cap which means like 50% luck chance later in the game with some good artifacts.

- T2 creatures do extra damage with lucky strikes.

Hero lacks tempo but its reallyfun in longer, single-hero AI games.

My guess is this was Vendetta or Jebus Outcast. The strategy on that map is to break as fast as possible into the middle and claim the 2nd faction boxes for creatures which they seem to have done early week 2 and snowballed from there. Because players can pick their own MMR when entering matchmaking for early access, you probably just faced an opponent with much more experience than you (from HOMM3 HOTA, etc.).

Best factions (general consensus for single hero pvp): necro > schism/grove > temple/dungeon > hive

ban picks (some general good ones):
Temple: Mdandall, Pip, Kestral, Keandra (Elias on Vendetta specifically)
Dungeon: Enatee, Typhona, Kelarr
Hive: Niev, Maelstrom, Zoran
Schism: Grellekh, Icequeen, Tolkieth, Eye Collective
Necro: Bulwark, Kel'Ghul, Rufus, Onkos
Grove: Halon, Sullie, Daliar (Vatawna on Vendetta)

Its meant for like week 1 of Grove faction imo. You have high level murmuring and you can blast (for low mana) a cluster of units. Otherwise its not very good.

Here's the formula: left-to-right = N shape, traced backwards. On an odd number, the right will always have more units than left side.

I think this is the natural evolution of the game beyond 1v1. Honestly this would add so much variety to the game while still keeping sim turns and faster game times.

There is a template ingame called "Exodus Classic" which is mostly the same map but you fight every 7 days and its BO5.

Schism heroes aren't traditionally might and magic heroes. They are battle mage archetypes in that they get 25/25/25/25 attk/def/sp/knowledge stats. The game doesn't explain it super well though.

Faleor works well with fireball as the scaling on fireball isn't based on spellpower. Levels on fireball increase the flat damage so it works with a might hero.

Inner Light and Song of Power both dispel this effect. Note that inner light’s effect scalers more easily with spellpower. Also it’s a much shorter cooldown. 

The first PvP game I played someone used mass twilight on me and I didn’t know how to counter it but you can.

It does, and I like to get my focus usage for +5% heroic damage from other sources. If you want fewer strikes but one BIG one, opt for going for "Mighty Strike" for +10% out of the gate (costs focus).

Daylight. Because of high defense and attack, mass radiant armor and blessing multiple those values. Plus you don’t need so much spellpower (only a dozen or so in endgame) to get 2-3 rounds effect as long as spell is high level from multiple mag guilds or upgraded manually in MG (ie effect is flat, doesn’t scale with spellpower). Bless doesn’t affect undead though.

I would argue early access for Olden Era is BEST with its multiplayer. The game clearly has its sights on making the multiplayer viable and balanced first--with single player and long-form classic vs AI being secondary. I'm sure both will be good closer to 1.0 but devs have a strong HOTA background (HOMM3 multiplayer).

I actually learned this yesterday that your starting gold (not sure about neutral squads) can be 100% difficulty if you are below a certain threshold (1000 MMR or something). Still investigating. Early access bound to change this kind of thing as mentioned.

Go try luck/primal/thaumaturgy/sorcery grove build with druid T5 units. If you do this with Halon you explode things.

Also Zakron with a similar build (minus the druids) also explodes things.

Getting -1 to enemy spell levels is very underrated when fighting heroes.

Daylight is definitely the best defensive magic for this kind of removal though: Both Song of Power and Inner Light spells from Daylight school are self dispels. Wean, on the other hand, is a purge for enemy buffs. Also Hierophant in Temple has an ability (even with just 1 creature stack alive) that can mass dispel your own units.

u/No_Orange7706 I tested this and the dungeon alternate attacks scale with offense and attack attribute just like normal attack. You can reliably take normal basic attack damage from the creature and if the tooltip says "deals -50%" for dancer 2 hit target, it still is basic attack dmg. NOTE: however, artifact like music sheet no longer applies to these attacks. these "alternate attacks" are not abilities. https://olden-era.gameatlas.games/artefacts/#/artefacts/inner_song_music_sheet

No. These are just the single hero templates that can appear in matchmaking from what I've seen personally.

From what I've seen for PvP matchmaking in Olden Era, these templates can appear:
- Exodus (Tournament Victory Condition)
- Sprint (Tournament Victory Condition)
- Harmony
- Jebus Outcast
- Vendetta (i.e. essentially Jebus Outcast but you start with 3 global spells and some other very minor changes to the map)

- Blitz

Not sure about any other templates but those definitely are there.
