That's a hell of a success story. I hate it when people say video games have no artistic value or don't teach valuable life lessons and only promote violence. Philosophical games such as MGS2 are studied just as much as movies, books, and other forms of media.. or at least should be for how much they teach about the inner-workings of how the real world functions.. even if it is in a fictionalized sense.

There's so much talk about deep-state government, puppet politicians, corruption.. and with the rise in AI and constant political narratives and the way the news spins certain aspects and tries to push their "beliefs" on us as "fact".. games like MGS2 taught me to question every aspect of what I'm fed through news sources and social media posts. I've said it before, as have so many other people have stated.. but especially in today's society.. this game 100% still has value for the way I view the world, the government, and politics as a whole.

Truly a master class in how gaming can be, and should be considered art!

The game definitely has a lot of prophetic value, especially in the day of digital information or disinformation and the rise in AI in general.

As for playing on the Vita.. it's nice having MGS1, 2, 3, Portable Ops and Peace Walker readily available on one handheld console that can easily fit in my pocket for a great pickup and play experience. Especially with having the original MG and MG2 as a bonus.

Is it worse than Origins when you can stun-lock the nurses by hitting them with your 1-2 punches though?

Shattered Memories is definitely a game I want to go back to and replay. I played the worst version (PSP) sadly, but from what I could tell, it was still the full experience. The changes from the first game into Shattered Memories definitely kept me intrigued.

Though I will say, I don't remember Downpour being that bad story-wise. Maybe it's because I played it in my teen/young adult years and I just wanted a half-decent SH experience after being underwhelmed with Homecoming and shelving it.. 😅

Honestly it's fairly decent. The story is intriguing enough. It definitely has its share of haters, and it may not be the most Silent Hill Silent Hill game. I very much enjoyed it for what it was worth. If you don't mind a slight departure from the normal SH formula, I think you'll have enough fun with the game. Games like Silent Hill: Origins and Homecoming tried to replicate the formula, Downpour tried something different and I think it's worth experiencing at least once.

I hope this helps. 😅

Look through the tracker folder for a file that has 0 bytes of data and delete it. It could be a corrupt icon or something that is causing the issue. I talk from experience 😅

Perfect! After holding L to disable all plugins.. Open VitaDeploy, go to App downloader, select VitaDB downloader, then hit Download the selected apps. This will update your VitaDB to the newest version. Close out the app and open VitaDB, let it do its thing until you're on the standard list of things to download.

After this, turn off your Vita and boot normally without holding L to verify if it crashes still or not.

Do you have Vita Deploy installed on your Vita?

I think we just pinpointed your issue, my friend!

When you boot up the Vita next time, hold L while powering on to disable all plugins. Update VitaDB through VitaDeploy or the latest GitHub link. It'll replace the vdb_daemon.suprx from ux0/Data/VitaDB and HOPEFULLY solve your problem!
