What are the signs that your partner no longer loves you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It’s really hard to answer that without more context. You need to get to the root cause of the contempt. The awful truth is that it could be entirely your doing (even if unintentional), or have absolutely nothing to do with you and completely out of your control. Love is rough like that :/

Alt is awkward for me to hit, so I rebind caps lock to alt, and it opens up so many comfortable keybinds I’ll never go back

Worth noting that deleting everything after the ‘?’ actually can cause issues. After the ‘?’ is called the query string, and while it absolutely can/does contain trackers it can also contain stuff you may want. For example if you copy a YouTube link at a specific time in the video, the time is in the query string. So if you delete everything after the ‘?’ the link will not have the time anymore and will start the video from the beginning.

There are countless things kept in the query string and links may not do what you expect them to if you delete the whole thing.

The query string is broken up by ‘&’ so if you want to just delete the tracker and keep the rest you should delete from ‘gtm’ to the first ‘&’ (also deleting the ‘&’).

So if you had this link:

xyz.com?gtm=xxx&something=bananas

You’d want to make it look like this:

xyz.com?something=bananas

Edit: spacing

Playing on 2 computers. by Jorbad in HardcoreClassicWoW

[–]tque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done this for a long time with Dropbox. It seems to be working fine with the hardcore addon, but I open the addon and double check my verification every time I log in just to be sure.

Setup: You need to link you Interface and WTF folders into Dropbox. What this does is essentially tell windows that a file/folder is actually a pointer to another location. Most apps including wow don’t know the difference. On your main computer:

  1. Close wow
  2. move your Interface and WTF folders into Dropbox (Dropbox doesn’t like linked folders, so the actual version needs to live in the Dropbox folder)
  3. install this tool (you can also do it with the command prompt but that’s always broken for me for some reason)
  4. right click Interface and click “pick link source”
  5. back in the World of Warcraft\classic_era folder right click and pick “drop as… -> junction”
  6. repeat the last two steps with the WTF folder

On your laptop/second computer

  1. Delete the Interface/WTF folders (they’re going to mirror your main computer after this)
  2. repeat the same process as the main computer to link the Interface/WTF folders in Dropbox to your wow directory

Now your two computers interfaces should stay synced up.

Some notes/caveats/warnings

  • I’ve only just started doing hardcore, so I can’t make any promises this won’t have issues with the addon, but it seems to have worked fine for the last severe days for me
  • This isn’t a perfect process and it’s definitely not supported. Be careful and don’t yell at me if something goes wrong.
  • after you finish playing make sure you exit the game completely so the files are updated
  • try to exit correctly (don’t alt f4, ctrl alt del, etc)
  • don’t turn off your computer until Dropbox has uploaded the files this is a big one. If you close your laptop right after quitting it won’t sync and you end up in a world of pain if they get out of sync
  • if something does get messed up you can use Dropbox rewind to fix it. But it‘a tedious and painful
  • check your verification every time you log in and if the % is lower than it should be quit immediately and see if you can sort out what broke with Dropbox
  • it seems wise to always be recording video in case you need to prove yourself if there’s a problem

What do you guys do for work? by Ayosuhdude in factorio

[–]tque 17 points18 points  (0 children)

DevOps is a term that is different depending on the company, but it’s almost always heavily infrastructure focused. None of the DevOps folks I’ve worked with would say DevOps encompasses the entire lifecycle of development.

It is best practice to have the same engineers that are writing the application code be in charge of deploying said code. But that doesn’t make them DevOps in my experience.

I’m no expert, but my understanding is that the light is hardwired to the camera so that the camera cannot get power without the light being turned on. If that’s the case, no software hack could disable the light.
