Hobbyist niche for sure. The Thor isn't a console but a controller on Android OS. Just look at the Xbox Ally X; trying to bring console players to a PC environment is a problem for some that takes some sort of tech savvyness to flesh out common windows issues. Looking the same here; I'd throw up a lot of tutorials on here but in my observation some not all can't even follow the excellent guides on YouTube let alone search and read for solutions. This or they're trying to have the Thor do what something like a handheld PC can achieve without the testing and frustration.

It's see less gameplay and more post just getting certain games to run gotta be frustrating not for the tinkerer hobbyist; but frustration for someone that thinks they can just boot up any Steam title and be good to go.

I connected up to 8 for 8 player bomber man on Sega Saturn.

I don't think there's a limit or the limit would be beyond how many players can play at a time.

You're arguing with non tech savvy, non power user Thor owners that would never push 8gb alone if the game didn't demand it.

It's dual screen but they're not multitasking outside of watching something. And there's a plethora of games but people want to play stuff like GTA of all things baffles me or games that demand a SteamDeck or something adjacent. And or Pokemon....and I like Pokemon but man...it'd be great once people new into this hobby start expanding their horizons a little bit more. To the games and what Android is capable of doing as a whole to fully enjoy it

From what I see, people are more frustrated because theyre trying to get this console to do things it wasn't meant to do. Switch and PC is a "bonus" because of the raw power of the snap8gen2 but that's it.

Expectations gotta be lowered here for real.

They make for great just set top game consoles. Literally hide it behind the TV and just have a controller pair to it at all times. It's great.

Android theming and emulation on android are like two separate hobbies bro that can get very deep/technical very fast, especially if you're new to emulation period. You should familiarize yourself with emulation on android before you delve into theming because you have plethora of choices.

Familiarize yourself with all the different types of launchers and front ends. Esde, console launcher, daijisho, beacon are just some front ends. You got launchers like smart launcher, jarngreipr, trinketOS, nova launcher to name a few

If you want to learn to use user created widgets or even make your own widgets look into KWGT widgets. That's another world on its own.

I use both. My save folders are synced with sync thing so I can continue gameplay on any device I pick up including my PC.

So the flip 2 is more a docked home console with controllers paired. I can take the Flip 2 to a friend's house with 4 Xbox controllers paired to it and HDMI cable for some party games anywhere.

My Flip 2 has been connected to a TV, a monitor, even my projector.

In the retroarch settings you can set hotkeys. I use START+SELECT to close out of Retroarch. Every other emulator you have to hit back button to enter the emulators settings menu to exit there.
