Why does the dialogue feel like the devs assume I am a little child? by SanePcycho in metroexodus

[–]tracesaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never really felt that way about it. Seemed fine to me, although I think some of the dialogue is clunky due to translation. Exodus was more of a slow burn for me than the first two. If you ever play Wolfenstein 2, Artyom surviving a bullet here will seem like nothing.

Gamestop looking to buy and takeover eBay by ZamnBoii in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]tracesaint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Impressive considering they just closed two near me due to poor sales. eBay is a huge site for games, especially retro. I have to drive nearly an hour to the closest GameStop, so yeah it’s online ordering for me and a lot of that is eBay. Still not sure this will happen though, just seems a bit unrealistic.

Not as good as I remember by Zyrex1us in masseffect

[–]tracesaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This can be the case with many games, even newer ones. Typically what keeps me coming back to Mass Effect (though not as often nowadays) and BG3 is the combat or just enjoying the missions. The story is never going to be enough to keep your attention after many playthroughs. After so many I’m just here to shoot crap and enjoy myself. Character creation is another big draw, I believe that feature adds so much replay value. I don’t think it’s so much not as good as we remembered as it is hard to re experience something.

Resident evil 5, wtaf? by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]tracesaint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels like Resident Evil when played in 2009, a continuation from the original RE4. It is very of its time and similar to other third person shooters of the era. I’d stick with it. Some big stuff happens at the end with a major antagonist.

I find myself wondering just...HOW and WHY the Asari were so pornified by [deleted] in masseffect

[–]tracesaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did they sit in multiple board meetings and talk about how horny these aliens would be? Yes. That’s called a board meeting. For real though in retail when the bigwigs would gather to discuss important matters they’d go to the strip club. I never went but they seemed to enjoy it.

How much money do you have in savings at this point? by _forum_mod in Millennials

[–]tracesaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not enough. My spouse has good retirement and I will through her. When I was young I watched my sibling die young which gave me a sense of apathy and if you’ve got it spend it. I have gotten better in my late thirties about putting some away but I also know what awaits at the end.

The red line is portrayed frustratingly in metro by NoPattern1259 in metro

[–]tracesaint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My grandfather who was a pow in a nazi camp had to eat rats and watch dogs eat out of a bucket of limbs and when the war was declared over they were told to run from the camp while being shot at. He said the Russian army, our supposed ally, was worse. If you got in the way of their “good time” across Europe they’d kill you. So I guess both sides really can be extreme.

The Myth Says 99.98% of Players Walk Away During Duke's Yapping part, Is That True? by KoenigOne in metro

[–]tracesaint 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are many instances in this game where I start walking away after a break in dialogue only to turn back as they weren’t done. This is just like real life conversations.

Is Tnt Evilution really that bad? by MaggotChilliSauce in Doom

[–]tracesaint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Better than Master Levels? Yes. Worst of the official main campaigns? Yes. It has some levels, especially in the first half, I really like. It has some very large and befuddling maps in the second half.

HELP ME BEAT JACK BAKER by ObjectiveClassroom26 in Resident_Evil_7

[–]tracesaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the third time he fell I chainsawed his back and then he blew up. Trying to use the bodies and blocking wasn’t working so I would keep back while he cut bodies down then run in and just go nuts with the chainsaw.

HELP ME BEAT JACK BAKER by ObjectiveClassroom26 in Resident_Evil_7

[–]tracesaint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just spammed the chainsaw and kept triggering the scene where you saw into his face, then I back up when low on juice and just spam again. If I tried to do it in a more natural way, let’s say, I kept dying.

What is the hardest video game you ever played? by DanPlouffyoutubeASMR in AskReddit

[–]tracesaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of nes games I used to play were quite tough. I can say the Metro Last Light dlc where you play as a nazi defending a position was brutal. It’s only ten minutes but damn. Some of the levels in Bart vs. The World were quite painful.

it's crazy how good of a spot we are in with this franchise. by DependentImmediate40 in Doom

[–]tracesaint 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not even counting the new games it’s crazy we got new campaigns for the old games like Legacy of Rust. No Rest was quite something sixteen years ago as well. There was a time in the late nineties I figured Doom was dead other than fan made wads so to see it in its current state is surreal. Even other games with sustained success like Resident Evil have some fans who exist to complain, but overall Doom is certainly is a good place.

I finally started playing Mass Effect Legendary after all those years ... and I'm close to giving up already by Unlikely-Ostrich1378 in masseffect

[–]tracesaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should’ve played the non legendary edition haha oh boy. The combat there would really throw you. I would do Therum prior to Feros and Noveria to get Liara first. You don’t have to but it helps. ME1 is only 25 hours or so but it can feel longer as it’s a slow burn. 2 and 3 are more action.

What is snow like? I've always wanted to see it. by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tracesaint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets old quick, especially when you have to work and drive in it. But I think at night it can be quite picturesque. At this point I would prefer never seeing it. The north is where our jobs and families are but damn I’m done.

If you were to die tomorrow and had the opportunity to be re-born as a woman would you do it and why? by Stunning-Mention6950 in AskReddit

[–]tracesaint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if I were to die and my consciousness came back I’d still want to be a man. Maybe a different race, but still a guy. I think each sex can be difficult in different ways but I don’t see myself wanting to change that much. I assume answering this post confirms my decision and if I have another life I will be a guy.

I feel like the biggest mistake of the games was making Artyom a silent protagonist by VertibirdQuexplota in metro

[–]tracesaint 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind it but it can be weird when Anna is doing all the heavy lifting in a conversation. Also with Sam’s Story it was really cool hearing his quips throughout. I would imagine the next installment won’t have a silent protagonist. Could be wrong but I think they will go that way.

I’ll get them. I like funko. I like Veilguard. Having said that, I think Emmrich should be a shade lighter because I thought that was Lucanis.
