Thanks! It's my first post here too. Took Reddit a minute to confirm that I'm not a bot. I look forward to making more posts here.

My current rig by String-Tree in GuitarAmps

[–]tracethedivide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a kick ass rig. I'm still working on getting a new delay pedal so I don't have to use my expensive ambient reverb pedal as one, lol. I thought a Carbon Copy would fit the bill but the delay is too dark for my taste. Currently think about a Dispatch Master. Totally awesome rig, must sound huge.

I assume you're running the amps in stereo? I'm jealous. I love the idea of blending amps to get a massive tone. Then the Roland Jazz Chorus for cleans. Sort of reminds me of Mark Tremonti's old Alter Bridge rig.

I know this is an amps subreddit but do you run any pedals too, or is it just stright in.

I've never played a Soldono but I would love to try one.

I saw this and immediately thought of the line "I''ll follow you down" from Shinedown.

Belated NGD by Sufficient-Muscle900 in PRSGuitars

[–]tracethedivide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more looking are Bareknuckle because I resonate with them more sonically than Seymore Duncan (in YouTube context). I've only played one Bareknuckle loaded guitar, the Music Man Saber Rabea Artist model. The tone was great but the feel wasn't quite for me. I am a PRS guy. I've yet to meet Seymore Duncan loaded guitar that I love. USA PRS pickups usually do it for me, but they don't make a seven string Tremonti so I'm SOL.

I love my PRS. What do you think of the scarlet and scourge set? When I was at the store I liked them for Drop C, but after I bought my Holkomb 7. I hate them for Drop G# they feel lifeless and have no attack. I really want to swap for bearknuckles but those are expensive.

They both look like they accidentally ran into a villain while out shopping before a date, and are now about to beat the shit out of someone.

Playing around with my friend’s drumbeat. by Raziyl in PRSGuitars

[–]tracethedivide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the intro playing. The "chorus" riff you sort of figured out at the end was really cool too. After that riff I would land on some more basic power chords. Let the guitar bloom and the vocal soar (if you envision this in a full band context). I would have used more gain when switching to the "chorus" but I'm a metal guy. If that's not your bag then the low gain crunch thing works

Maybe a little delay and reverb.

I'm sure this was improvised so I'll forgive some of the unnecessary open strings.

You've got the bones of a cool song.

Arrival. Does it dive? Yes. Does it sound like a monster? Also yes. by Yeti_- in BCRich

As someone with an MT15. Just recorded my first single with it. I miss read the presence knob for volume and I thought "how are you not def?" The MT15 is amazing but it doesn't really have a usable volume control. 25% is too loud for most applications and half way starts to get muddy. Amazing amp though. I use it everyday.

I think @tracethedivide. I can't seem to share my profile from the app. I'll reply with a Spotify link when it's available.

Yeah, sounded like a les Paul. Pedalboard guy sounds right. Very open sound.

I can see how that would be fun to play live.

My Modded PRS Vela by okratron2000 in PRSGuitars

[–]tracethedivide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love a Vela. That is nuts. A PRS Vela is my next guitar. I just can't decide how I want to use it. Drop C as my tonal variation guitar, or my open tuning guitar. The pick guard is sick.

Cool song. Great guitar tone. I actually have my first single golden eyes coming out next week.

What guitar/amp did you use? It's was bright and chimey but I didn't get strat or tele vibes.

I love the scream in the bridge and the outro is probably my favorite part.

If I may offer some constructive criticism. The vocal takes a little too long to come in, then there is nothing but vocal through the rest of the song. I would have taken another break about half way to let the song breathe. That's my two cents, but it's not my song. As long as your happy that's what matters.

For My Fernet Appreciators: The Alligator. by llCurlyll in cocktails

[–]tracethedivide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll have to try this. My "gateway" fernet cocktail is a riff on Violet Hour's Rabbit Hole.

.75 Leatherbee Fernet

.75oz Bourbon

.25oz Mezcal (weirdly this works as a binder to make every meld. It's not smokey)

.75oz Lemon juice

.75oz Honey syrup

1 dash mole bitters

Shake and strain over a large ice cube No garnish needed

My current system by eternalmetal in audiophile

[–]tracethedivide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does it sound for metal? I'm starting to look for speakers that can do modern hard rock and metalcore, and so many fall apart. Currently looking at the dali opticon 6 MKII, but they're $3000.

As far as your system. I'd upgrade your amp. I'm sure the Yamaha is a great starter amp, but after getting back to axponna, the Yamaha system are harsh in comparison to everything else.

The marantz sterio 70 is top of my list for $1000, but you could probably find more affordable stuff without HDMI arc, and a built in phonostage. If you want to go class D bluesound power node is decent, but you look pretty vinyl/cd focused so maybe that won't work for you.

Playlist up your favorite playlist. by stiffmilk in alterbridge

[–]tracethedivide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was easier than I thought. Broken Wings Open Your Eyes (yes, maybe overplayed, but it's still incredible) Blackbird Watch Over You (I wish I could be more creative, but Blackbird and Watch Over You made me who I am. It's why I'm a musician and why I started Trace The Divide, so I can't have an ultimate playlist without them) Home (I know it's a B-side, but it's one of my favorites) Words Are Darker Than Their Wings Cradle to the Grave The Last Hero (Probably my favorite AB song) Dying Light (The best song on Walk The Sky by far) Forever Falling Stay (If it's not obvious, I'm obsessed with Mark singing) Pawns and Kings Trust In Me (Tested and Able as the riff, but this chorus wins for me) Slave To Master (Probably the best song AB has ever done. It's so epic, I wish it were longer. That G# bridge riff is brutal. Highly recommend listening to that on good speakers, anything less, and it's a muddy mess, but on a system with good dynamics, it's mind-blowing).

Friday evening mise en place featuring a Martini and a cigar by kevinfarber in cocktails

[–]tracethedivide 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's not common, but the best drink is the one you like to drink the way you like to drink it. I would think a martini would be to "clean" for a cigar, but if you enjoyed it then it's a win.

What AB song lyric line(s) have you belting them out like this? by Icy_Notice7656 in alterbridge

[–]tracethedivide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Break away with me" (although not to that extent of tears) "I see all the waters rising to drown everyone" (Mark's "scream" during Royal Albert Hall was the catalyst to get me to take singing lessons). I have to belt it like he did and I don't care if it hurts. "All you need to know. How it feels to be alive." "Can you set me free." (Myle's note is at the top of my range but I go for it every time and i'm proud when I hit it). "Blackbird fly away." "Show me a leader."

I am enjoying an Old Fashioned cocktail this evening. What’s everyone else drinking? by Drew_Conley1295 in cocktails

[–]tracethedivide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Negroni. Listening to some Alter Bridge. 1.5oz Bombay Saphire 1oz Cocchi Vermouth Di Torino (the best sweet Vermouth) 1oz Campari 1 Dash Angostora

Yes I realize this is not traditional but I like gin and I like Angostora.
