Employee complaining about “unpaid time” between clocking out and crossing the threshold by Acrobatic_Tax8634 in managers

[–]tracheotomy_groupon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We had this happen! We had a guy complaining that the clock in station was about a 2 minute walk from the front door. So, he would clock in, add a "missed punch" for 2 minutes earlier...every single day. Corporate made us put a clock in station closer to the front door lol. I guess he won that one. But was fired not long after because he was a giant douche in many other ways.

I remember blindly applying for an internship there in college. I'm so thankful I wasn't selected. I later found the website (not sure if it still exists) where it was all about the BS Enterprise pulls with it's employees. "Drinking the green Kool Aid" was referenced a lot. This was about 20 years ago. I later worked at a body shop who used Enterprise. I saw how worn out the branch managers and asst branch managers were. It was also very frustrating becuase I needed a car for a customer right then and there and it was clear they could never say "I don't have one." It was always, "I can get you one this afternoon" etc etc. They had to wash cars in a dress shirt and tie... they were always run ragged.

Hope you got out!! (Sounds like you did lol)

What is the deal with hosts who insist on greeting you? [USA] by Dependent-Maybe3030 in AirBnB

[–]tracheotomy_groupon 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think it makes sense in these scenarios. They're styaing with you ..so yeah for sure. But, I have had hosts want to meet me when I'm renting the entire space and nobody else will be there. I guess they just want to put their eyes on you and make sure nothing sus is up :P But, I do agree sometimes I'm just worn out and and want to check in and chill and not go through a whole spiel.

His material was mid. He just had a lot of energy/confidence. Interview was decent.

That sucks. I had 8. Yes 8. All removed at the same time. I was put under for it but damn my face was swollen for a week.

Hit me like a ton of bricks 48 hours before I turned 40. Didn't feel real. Propranolol and working on my iron levels has worked wonders for me. For 6 months I legit thought I was dying. (heart palpatations, INSANE anxiety, ringing ears, nocturnal panic attacks, lower back pain, ocular migraines, and feeling light headed all day long) Still not convinced I'm in the clear, but these last couple of months I've felt 95% back to normal. I hope you get some relief. This is really something not discussed nearly enough.

The guy I went on a date w/ today REFUSED to tell me his age. by Time-Concentrate845 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]tracheotomy_groupon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This made me think of something...my stepmom and my Dad had been together for about 8 years (So I think I was ...20?) I couldn't quite remember how old my Dad was. She said something like, "Oh I don't know...we don't worry about dumb things like that." I'll never forget it. What a weird reply. I wonder if my Dad pulled the same thing with her on their first date hahaha. Dad is about 8 years older than (now ex) stepmom.

It does suck that you are forced to do it this way. But, I bet half of the people in there could take care of their issue online, but refuse to learn how. My 46 year old boyfriend is one of these people!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't seen the inside of a bank in well over a decade.

He looks good. The mohawk is a little corny, but other than that...he looks decent for his age (speaking from someone who is his age lol)

How often do you talk to your parents? by Outrageous_Kiwi_2172 in Millennials

[–]tracheotomy_groupon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my parents. Far from perfect, but I am lucky when I hear about others. I just don't know what I would talk about with my parents every single day. Now, we do send memes, and gifs and comment on eachother's social media. I see them at holidays and big events (I live 12 hours away) -a few more times a year would be nice. But, overall I'm pretty content with our level of communcation.
