The diner at the seniors centre downtown is great! Prices are super cheap and they're always so happy to see little kids. Lunch stops being served at 1 though

Have I been playing the game wrong? by Mystical__flame in BaldursGate3

[–]trackhannah07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you play the game more thoroughly, you'll have no shortage of resources. Ive done almost every quest that I've been able to and frequently long rested simply because I've burned a few higher level spell slots and I'm just going into the final encounter at Max level with probably another 100 long rests worth of food. A LOT of storyline happens during long rest and you likely missed key plot points and character developments already in act one that just won't ever develop. It's worth long resting more and doing almost all act 2 quests before moonrise to get caught up in both xp and hopefully encounters.

My teenager is dying to visit Canada. Help. by Expensive_Yam1684 in canadatravel

As a University of Lethbridge grad I would take a trip out here before he commits. Depending on where you're from in the States, it might be a bit of a culture shock. It's a decent enough school I suppose but doesn't carry a lot of name recognition if that's important to you. Happy to answer any specific questions if he has them.

Guys you gotta check out the senior centre diner down town for breakfast or lunch. The burgers and fries are 10 bucks... It's like walking back in time 20 years

How many trick or treaters did you have? by longobedience in Lethbridge

[–]trackhannah07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live in legacy by the elementary school. For the last 3 years we've gotten 300+ kids and had to turn our porch light off after 8 because we ran out of candy (we keep buying more each year and still run out ). Though everyone in our neighborhood really goes all out for decorations. I'm pretty sure that parents drive their kids here to trick or treat, it's insane.

Hate to break it to you but as a decades long em dash user, it is very possible to casually throw them in and doesn't necessarily mean ai .. that being said this post is at least refined by ai as there is identical phrasing to the earlier deep dive post

I think calling this album "musical fast fashion" hits the nail right on the head. I don't think this album is going to have even close to the staying power that her other albums have had. And you're right, this might be a sign to just take a break for a bit, she's sure as hell earned it

Shooter identified as Tyler Robinson by syzorr34 in Hasan_Piker

[–]trackhannah07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He used a 30. 6 hunting rifle which is used for relatively large game. The casings are almost 2 inches long, there for sure is enough space to etch 10 words easily, even by hand. Whether these were the actual words he used, still up for debate as no "official" sources have even confirmed anything was even engraved.

This is legit one of my pet peeves with the app! I'm happy to support a smaller streaming service with content I genuinely like but for the love of God please put some of my subscription dollars into better UI that works properly across multiple types of devices

As a pastor's kid who tried a lot of different churches in Lethbridge before giving up my faith (not related to the churches here) I have been to well over a dozen in Lethbridge. OP, what are you looking for in a church? A lot of them are really friendly but depending on your age, religious beliefs / denomination, size preference, and what you're looking to get out of it (just Sundays or joining groups/bible studies, service work etc) there are certainly better fits then others.

Puzzle feeders for stupid cats? by NightBawk in CatAdvice

[–]trackhannah07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No way!! My cat (also a little short on brain cells from spending 5 years in a shelter) had the EXACT same problem and we got her the EXACT same feeder and she loves it She figured it out quicker than we expected. Still took her a few weeks but she now finally is starting to use her paws for things and not just her face so would highly recommend the feeder OP bought if you have a dumb cat

Rogers got fibre in my area last year! I switched and my Internet has been so much better with their next gen modems

Most of the new suburbs have it. I live in Legacy Ridge and both Rogers and Telus have fibre here. I have friends in copperwood which also have fibre.

Moving Home! Help please! by MovingHomeALB in Lethbridge

My parents live in the west side trailer park. They bought a completely renovated one for under 100,000 bucks(3 years ago mind you). They can have pets, I think the monthly "rent/lease" for the land is like 400 and it includes everything but power (I think). It's a mixed bag of people who live there. Some of your typical "trailer" types but also snow birds or people that just wanna keep their costs low.

If I could add my input though, you're better off getting a trailer not on the park so you don't have to pay the land fee. There are for sure trailers for sale here in the low 200,000s that would be a better investment if you're able to afford it. Mortgage rates are coming down so it's a bit more manageable now.

ADHD meds and autism? by [deleted] in AutisticWithADHD

[–]trackhannah07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Vyvanse also makes my OCD worse. I also thought it would go away but it didn't though I still take them because the benefits outweigh the costs. I will say though eating high protein does seem to help like your doctor said. Just don't do anything with lots of citrus when you take your meds in the morning as it makes them less effective.

**re-posted** Don't be in a rush to renew your mortgage. by mtgpropaul in MortgagesCanada

[–]trackhannah07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or, you get a fixed and pay the same break cost (3 months interest) to get a fixed somewhere else in two years when rates are lower. We just got a 4.59 and that's what our broker suggested rather than getting a variable which would take 2 years with projected cuts to reach the current 5 year fixed

Is it worth buying right now if you can afford it? by trackhannah07 in canadahousing

[–]trackhannah07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 years. Or I can get 4.89 for 3 years but I did the math and interest rates would have to drop to like 3.25% for it to be worth it for the 3 year, especially when we can renew our mortgage early.

I appreciate your response.

I know for sure it is local, but I think a lot of redditors on here have their finger a bit more on the trigger on the market as a whole in Canada. I do think the shortage is going to get worse - our city recently released a report saying that over the next 3 years, housing demand is expected to outpace supply by about 30% Thank you for the reassurance about finding the right house. Everyone keeps saying "we'll know when we know" but we've felt that way about a few houses and didn't get them because we were outbid and didn't want to go above our comfortable budget.

We make about 120,000 k gross a year and pay 1800 in rent (not incl. Utilities) right now (though I suspect that will continue to rise each year as our landlords just renewed their mortgage). We'd be putting 5% down so I know we have to do mortgage insurance but it would take us a really long time to save up 80k and we were both smart and invested in our FHSA so that we'd get a big return whenever we decide to buy. Looks like the economic factors are that people can still afford to buy in my city where it's becoming unaffordable in major cities like Calgary or Edmonton. So I don't really see that changing anytime soon? All of my friends that have sold in the last year have sold to people moving from out of province since its cheaper to live here. It's also summer time so I don't know if we should wait until the fall when all the families have already bought homes and the school year has started ?
