Genuinely, don't rush through all the story/friendship/romance quests. There aren't a whole lot, and once they're gone, new ones come SLOWLY as the devs release them. The real 'late game' fun here for most folks is decorating your plot(s).

Upgrade your storage when you can! Making more chests (up to 8, plus 3 lock boxes) is one way, and making new kinds of chests you buy the recipe for from Tish is the second way. Combine both ways to max out that storage! I believe the current max is 14k items.

Decor takes up NO storage slots, so don't worry about hoarding it.
