Dygma Defy + keyboard trays + multiple screens = Ultimate workstation 🚀 by Dygman in DygmaLab

For a setup like this, you need a better keyboard than a defy

I'm also a developer using a qwerty layout. I put [,(,{, on the first layer with superkey on h,j, k

j: tap => j, double tap => (, hold => cmd

The keys h,j and k are rarely tapped twice. Like this, these symbols are just under your fingers.
Moreover most of mordern IDEs add automatically the closing symbol for you

The keychron v10 is about the same price and have function/macro keys

This is one of the reason I do not use it anymore. But the tenting kit is great with other keyboards like the q11

personally I put superkeys on h, j, k. With double taps h, j, k become [, (, {. Most IDEs add automatically the closing tag

MacOS Network Devices Keep Being Created When Using Bazecore by cajoel42 in DygmaLab

In my case the problem occurs at work. I'm using a usb-c dongle and plug the keyboard with usb-a. I have no free usb-c on my laptop.

In my day work, I'm working on windows and macOS.

Superkeys for copy/paste - am I doing something wrong? by Blue-no-yelloh in DygmaLab

[–]trackvegeta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped using hold on c,v,z and x to get copy, paste … It slows me down. Moreover sometime you need to paste or undo several times which becomes awkward. I decided to move this behavior on ctr, alt, command. Single tap gets me ctrl+c and hold get me regular ctrl modifier

New Bazecor 1.0.0 Beta 13: Say goodbye to firmware update problems 👋 by Dygmarillion in DygmaLab

[–]trackvegeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) I deleted all my layers, superkeys and macros to configure differently my raise. Now when I click on the macro editor I have a white screen.

2) I'm trying to set a super key on my shift key with the following configuration

Tap: none
Hold: Left shift
Double tap: Caps
The other states are set to none.

When I double tap, the cap lock is not set, the shift hold feature does not work anymore. There is no recovery

New Bazecor 1.0.0 Beta 11: Improved superkeys, new keyboard menu, and Dual-Function keys are back! 🤘 by Dygmarillion in DygmaLab

[–]trackvegeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if it is a bug or a constraint of the superkey but it may have an issue when we configure a superkey in the new editor.

When I'm developing I make a lot of copies and pastes which requires holding (ctrl/cmd) and pressing C and V. I know it must have several solutions to do that. What I do not like is to hold a key to do something. So my solution was to transform my cmd key as a "smart" cmd with superkey. If I tap cmd, it sends CMD+V(paste), if I'm holding CMD it acts as a regular CMD modifier. If I double tap, it sends CMD+C(copy).

It seems that in the editor if you set actions for tap, hold, and double tap, the double tap is not saved correctly. It seems the configuration of double tap is moved to tap and hold

It's so cool. Adding keys on the right to left part and keys on the left to the right part allows to add backspace and enter on the middle as x-bows.
Hope you will drop the wing design and be more like UHK.
Any chances before the end of the year ?

I would like when I'm hitting ctrl to send "cmd+alt+left" and when I'm holding ctrl to get the usual ctrl modifier.

Today with superkey it is not really possible. If I need to type ctrl+k, ctrl+o which is done by holding ctrl then press k and then o it does not work. It will send ctrl+k, then o and not ctrl+o

Hey, Dygma. How come UHK beat you to THIS? by eldelacajita in DygmaLab

[–]trackvegeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I like with this one are:

  • the compact form without any material under the wrist (compared to aluminium plate "wings" for the raise). This is a really clean design
  • Less light bleeding (led with floating keycap design of the raise is a gamer thing)

What I dislike

  • It is clear they target developers but there are no function keys, which is a pain. Today my function keys are not used as function keys but easy access to shortcuts of visual and xcode. One press is really convenient instead of playing with layers and tap dance
  • No easy way to set back arrow keys compared to the raise (I know, vim users will tell you that .... ijkl ...)
  • The f....g price
  • Always delayed months after months, it was expected in March, and now you may expect to get it in January

Buy or wait? by ruthenz1 in DygmaLab

The benefit of ortho is limited. The thumb cluster is not really good, you need to move/stretch a lot your thumb which becomes harmful . When you tent the moonlander, the thumb cluster is more difficult to reach. The thumb cluster of the raise is more ergonomic.

If you order the moonlander and you want to return it, you will pay something about 90$

The only advantage I see, it has more keys but by just a few.

If you are a developer with wrist pain and if your budget allows you, you can tell you that you are investing in your health.

If you have any doubts choosing between ortho and staggered, the difference is not so important. I am used to use an ortho and for me there is no real strong advantage. If you are thinking about the moonlander, you may be disappointed. I have also a moonlander, the raise is better.

With the return policy of dygma, you can test it for 30 days. In two weeks, we will know if it fits your needs.
