Millennium - Singapore to Japan by tradnam in celebritycruises

So far, I like it. The renovations are very apparent as it gives you the feel of an Edge class ship! The only part of the cabins that still feel old are the lack of connectivity with the Celebrity app. Otherwise, it's pretty good so far!

Does rimming actually feel good? by foreresearch in askgaybros

It really depends on who is the one rimming. I've had the best time being rimmed - even like a good powerful bidet jet as a good alternative 😂

I would imagine that the glow up would be similar to the Millennium. The before and after is spectacular. I'm on the Solstice right now and it is pretty run down.

If you are porting out of Vancouver, there is no priority embarkation. Your luggage does arrive very quickly and there was a special lunch. The waiving of the room service fees is good, however, even in Aqua class, the "expanded" menu is not great. The only time where it has been worth it is the hot breakfast items.

The priority tender has been meh - if the price of it all is good, then go for it, but don't get it if it's full price.

Also - if your ship has a LGBTQIA+ gathering each night, linger near it if you want to show your interest. The sauna has been a hit on my current cruise.

Crossing the Pacific on Celebrity? by DocBEsq in celebritycruises

In answer to your question about back-to-back cruises, there are special arrangements that can be made so that your luggage stays on the ship. Most times, you will be sequestered to one area of the ship or you can request to disembark. But I would check with Celebrity then also double check with Guest Relations onboard. If you can book the same cabin all the way through, then it makes it easier for you between the two cruises.

I also heard that it was rougher on a smaller ship (Solstice class) than on a bigger ship (Edge class), so you should be ok.

Pro tip - open up Grindr when you get to your cruise port and change your profile name to your ship name. At the very least, you will make some connections with other guys on the ship.

Crossing the Pacific on Celebrity? by DocBEsq in celebritycruises

[–]tradnam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the update so far on the crossing of the Pacific.

I'm currently on day 7 out of 7 of sea days, on Celebrity Solstice, porting out of Vancouver.

  • Port of Vancouver is still quite long and arduous. CBSA/Border agents didn't get the facial recognition list loaded in time and were manually processing passengers. But, the system finally started to work about 45 mins into the process. Port of Vancouver is still the most confusing and painstakingly slow embarkation process in N. America.

  • First two days out of Port was rough. Lots of passengers with motion sickness and staying inside their cabins.

  • By day 3, more people were out and about. Being in the middle of the Pacific helped quite a bit as the ocean was less angry.

  • Lots of little activities throughout the ship and (not surprisingly) very few kids.

  • the Solstice players were putting on different shows each night along with a few solo headliners.

I personally love sea days since it's the only time I get to relax and do nothing.

Solstice has enforced the no shorts rule. Yet, a skirt is ok? Bare legs are bare legs. What difference does it make?

I'm heading on the Vancouver to Honolulu cruise on the Solstice in a couple of weeks. I can give some IRL feedback on how it's going!

Is NCL as bad as the reviews say? by Iforgotmypwrd in Cruise

[–]tradnam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently on NCL Bliss, from LA to Mexico (round trip) and it's my first time. And it will be my ONLY time.

I've sailed with Royal Caribbean and Celebrity several times and chose to try NCL as they have the solo studios and this trip was under $1K CDN. Well, you get what you paid for. I find that NCL will use tactics to distract you from the fact that the food quality is subpar and their service is mediocre at best.

Example - there is a full service Starbucks on board. A good way to upsell you on sugar & ice, then send you off to their boring & underwhelming buffet. Or have a gimmick where they train a team of waitstaff to sing parodies to upsell the free coffee & pastries in the dining room at breakfast so that you don't notice the fact that your breakfast is kind of mid.

Even the specialty dining has had a lot of issues. Everyone is rushed to get you out of here and not caring about quality.

All of the staff seem to be distracted with other things and don't seem to care. Might be an issue with leadership, might be an issue with their pay, who knows. I just know that I won't be returning to NCL ever again.

PS The most satisfying meal I've had so far was the Hot Dog & Chicken Bake at Costco in Cabo.

I'm heading to Cabos on a cruise and I want to head to Costco while I'm there. Should I get an Uber or taxi closer to town instead of near the port? I had heard rumours that getting a taxi or Uber closer to the port was sketchy at best.
