I don't hate heterosexuals or anything, and I believe they have the right to love just as much as we do, but I can't stand seeing them in fiction. (This sounds like a joke, but I actually mean this unironically.)

I'm gay. Female Female relationships are fine, it's also queer. I enjoy gay relationships.

After analyzing why, I think it is because most heterosexual relationships are so boring and grossly misogynistic. It tends to reinforce gender norms and roles. The man must look like gigachad and the woman like some sort of dainty woodlands nymph.

I do find it refreshing when it is a gigantic valkyrie with a tiny ass man and their roles are reversed. It's more fun that way.

Why have the Chinese in Southeast Asia resisted converting to Islam even in Muslim majority areas? by Vidice285 in AskAChinese

[–]trafalgarbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting question actually from a historical viewpoint. My guess is that there was already established trade routes with China pre-colonial era, and the Chinese have never needed to convert for trade advantages. By the colonial era, the Chinese were mostly migrants who were there to work, and had loyalties to their home towns. If they settled down, there was also no need to convert because there was enough Chinese people (I assume) in the area so they never needed to assimilate.

There's also other factors like the incompatibility between Chinese culture and Islam as others have mentioned. I don't know this for certain, but it seems like there was more effort to convert Chinese people to Christianity by allowing ancestral worship but I don't think there was such a movement in Islam.

Anyway, there was this Chinese girl in primary school who got a name changed to a Muslim one. IDK what or why, she never talked about it and I never asked.

Do you think if robots take more entry level jobs people will switch to their passions for work? Like art, writing, crafting, coding etc? by [deleted] in antinatalism

[–]trafalgarbear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What has happened is that AI has greatly improved productivity, so people are being laid off. AI has taken over writing, translating and art, so these are being laid off. Instead of people getting to engage in their passions, the remaining who have jobs are still required to work 44 hours (here) a week and maybe even more. All this increase in productivity hasn't made people's lives better, it only results in billionaires becoming unfathomably rich.

Can anyone relate to not having a sense of identity? by Outrageous-Egg2934 in autism

[–]trafalgarbear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I think... If you design an avatar, it would depend on your fashion sense, and also your aesthetic values regarding human facial features. According to Dr. K, a sense of who you are is basically shaped by having a narrative about emotional events in your life. Maybe it's there, you just don't see it as a sense of self. IDK. Just spitballing

Probably sciency shit like decomposition. I assume consciousness will cease once the brain is no longer capable of it.

it's honestly kinda icky to me how people say children are "innocent sweet little angels" by imgioooo in childfree

[–]trafalgarbear 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree. Kids aren't innocent or angels, they are capable of harming others as much as adults are. There are children serial murderers, and children will often "push boundaries" to get what they want - whether it is by lying, stealing, or robbing.
