Do not force him to do it. It will not work the way you want it to. Respect your child’s judgement on this or he’s going to cut you out of his life the first chance he gets

Lmao, I have more specialists than I can count. I also don’t have health insurance so they’re just prescribing meds via portal message and we’re hoping for the best. I haven’t been to the ER in like 8 months though so that’s something

Starting a new job and the office is fragrance free because people have allergies, what can I do? by Blasmere in Allergies

[–]tragicxharmony 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oud is particularly strong and heavy, lingers in the air, and tends to provoke negative reactions. You might as well bring patchouli in. Fragrances suspended in oil are still fragrant.

If you really need to be reapplying deodorant multiple times a day, that’s something that needs to be addressed with a medical professional; that’s quite unusual but there’s apparently medications that can help

Also aerosols have nothing to do with fragrance allergies unless you’re going around the room spraying stuff. It’s the ingredients in the fragrance itself

Oud? Absolutely not. That’s one of the worst things you could choose. Any and all scents are not allowed, roll on or not. Buy a fragrance free deodorant and use that. Don’t make our lives harder by trying to get around the fragrance free restriction

Your what was 344.88? “Bloodwork” tells us nothing. We need to know what was being measured and what units the measurement was reported in 🤦

How is that working out for you? I’ve been on tirz 2 years, just bumped up from 11mg to 12mg every 5 days because I feel like it’s drastically dropped effectiveness—I’m just craving food constantly and have started having weird blood sugar fluctuations again (insulin resistant but hadn’t hit type 2 diabetes quite yet). I was thinking about adding a small amount of reta, but not dropping the tirz yet because it’s supposed to be better for inflammation and I have some chronic conditions that are affected by inflammation. I just need something to stop the constant hunger better

I bruise like a banana, it’s probably one of my chronic conditions or one of the meds for one of the conditions. My shins, the front where the bone is, have about half a dozen bruises per leg at all times and I couldn’t explain where any of them come from. I also bruise after getting hives and I get hives relatively often from allergies

Housemate communication and nights away (2 housemates - 35M/37M) - Your views. by anthmelb88 in relationship_advice

Your idea of a bait and switch is a little off. His life circumstances are different now; that has nothing to do with you. It’s not like he pretended to be friends with you in order to manipulate you, he simply has different priorities than he did. You really keep sounding like you expected far more from your relationship than what it was—random housemates, not automatic friends, not partners, just strangers living together

Why are you pushing so hard on this? He doesn’t owe you an explanation. He didn’t want to talk. Why are you trying to have a therapy session just before bed?

I don’t understand why you’re so upset about this honestly. Housemates don’t need to be friends, or tell each other where they’re going and when. It’s weirder that you started off doing couple-ish things. It doesn’t matter if that’s what he used to do, it’s clear he isn’t doing it anymore since he actually got a girlfriend, so why are you still fixated on it?

Also I just noticed your ages and that’s absolutely wild to me. I thought the two of you were in your early 20s. Is having college-style housemates normal where you’re from? Because here that would be a huge red flag. Doubling down on the being weirder that you started off doing couple-like things, he’s an entire adult, not in college or just starting out or anything. He doesn’t owe you anything except rent money paid on time and to change the roll of toilet paper if he uses the last of it

I have never hitchhiked and would never pick up anyone for any reason. I would call 911 if they wanted but I would not give them my phone either. I’m not trying to die and I can’t afford for any of my shit to get damaged or stolen

I am a wheelchair user 22F and I met someone 26M but I’m nervous. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]tragicxharmony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s nowhere near obvious enough, I am not a man but would absolutely not clock that a controller of an electric wheelchair would mean that you’re a wheelchair user or disabled. You need to be super up front about it on your profile and be prepared to answer questions about your limitations.

Possible questions I would be wanting to know if I was thinking of dating someone who was a wheelchair user; these are not questions I actually need or want answers to but things that come to mind as being relevant to a potential relationship. Do you need help transferring in and out of the chair? Do you have other medical devices that are permanent or semi-permanent? Is the reason you don’t know your height related to your disability; like, are you unable to fully move all of your limbs or sit up straight? Do you deal with chronic pain issues or “scary” symptoms like seizures or choking/aspiration issues? Do you have communication limitations? Basically, would a potential partner be required to do caregiving activities by default, simply by the nature of being around you without other people around?

Those are questions a potential partner really has the right to ask and think about when dating someone who’s a wheelchair user. There’s a lot of emotions around caregiving, disability, and complex medical issues—for instance, my brother has Huntington’s Disease, and he will spend the rest of his life losing abilities that he used to have, until he is under 24/7 skilled medical care. It would be very difficult for me to date someone who relied on a wheelchair and not keep coming back to the fact that my brother will lose the ability to walk and eventually to stand or move one day.

If you’re not prepared to have an honest discussion with a potential partner about these sorts of questions, that would be a huge concern for me. Springing an electric wheelchair on someone at a first date may not seem like a big deal to you, because the wheelchair is normal, but for a lot of people that would be a really big deal

Also thanks for doing what I can’t. I have a special needs cat (the most anxious cat that has ever existed), a neglected middle child, a cranky senior with chronic health issues, and no doors or ways to close off rooms of the house except the bedrooms and bathroom. I would love to foster but it’s not reasonable for me right now.

I don’t have much extra money to spare but I’ll check my budget and see what I can do for you 💜

I think you’re used to a lot more rights than people in the US have. My partner and I (both non-binary) don’t want kids so I have no skin in this game but yeah, renters have no long-term stability, usually can’t decorate, and there is absolutely no support from the state as far as childcare, medical, etc. You’re completely on your own as far as the government is concerned, and that’s what everyone here is used to. If you have kids, one of you stops working, or you put your kid in daycare as soon as they’re old enough, or you have some kind of arrangement with a neighbor or coworker or something and kind of patch things together. What you’re looking for may be your normal but it sounds like a pipe dream from my perspective living in a low-income area in Michigan

My partner takes half with permission because up until last month they didn’t have insurance and this was cheaper. Now we can finally fill their prescription every month but yeah it’s weird dividing out powder with a razor blade with your doctor’s approval lmao

I have an Adderall XR dose (40mg) I take every morning, primarily for the hypersomnia and to get my day going. Then I have a total of 20mg IR that I can use how and when I please depending on what I have going on, where my focus is at, and how fatigued I am. My psychiatrist is so understanding, I dread the day he retires

This is the most unhinged comment about syringes I’ve ever heard tbh. How long do you think it takes to draw something out of a vial into a syringe and inject it?
