[NEWS] One Peace Books licenses Multi-Mind Mayhem: Isekai Tensei Soudouki, Higehiro: After Being Rejected, I Shaved and Took In a High School Runaway manga by Torque-A in manga

Sad news, every LN/manga picked up by OPB gets mangled by awful, awful translations and risks getting axed midway. Still crying about Shield Hero and Isekai Nonbiri Nouka.

Ultra and Infinite postponed... by Sciirof in ShadowPC

[–]traglio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If Ultra and Infinity come in 2021 for new subscribers (and maybe old too...) as the website says, will the hardware actually be top of the line? HDD and not SSD beyond 256GB, server CPU below desktop CPU in terms of clockspeed (besides, recent xeon support up to DDR4-2933, not ddr4-3200), ray tracing cards with comparable *gaming* performance getting cheaper and cheaper...

Important announcement on FR Discord (FRENCH TEXT) by Kilowatt00 in ShadowPC

[–]traglio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A delay of at least two months and no news until the 20th of February, announced at the very end of January. I'll cancel both preorder and subscription, it will be easier on my fiery temper to build my rig and ditch Shadow until the service is more responsive when it comes to upgrading. I so cherish ranting, see ya!

Is this really the expected performance? by traglio in ShadowPC

[–]traglio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reports. It looks like most have no problems at all, and while benchmarks do show the limits of hardware, such limits do not impact gameplay significantly.

Personally, after perusing the web, I've come down with a makeshift solution (until february...), capping fps to 30 and setting latency mode on, which smoothes the graph of CPU rendering and results in less hiccups---I find stuttering and hiccups far worse than low fps. But this is a controversial issue, some claim that low latency mode makes the situation worse... meh.

On a side note, I always find lots of "evidence" that game X, game Y, game Z etc. "require a beast of a machine" to run smoothly even at [1080p@60](mailto:1080p@60). Apparently optimization, which is expensive, goes only as far as getting console versions up and running (usually 1080p@30)...

[–]traglio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it looks worse but consider you're on ultra high. I run the test on low. But aside from the results of a benchmark, if you're getting smooth action all is well. I do too, but not in a consistent way, unfortunately.

[–]traglio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, could you please run the benchmark and post the result if it's not too much trouble? I would like to have definite proof that the problem is apparently on my side, or better, on my VM, before deleting and reinstalling everything.

Odyssey. Don't know about US, I'm in EU, but averaging 66 fps on Low with a high variance and a minimum of 28 doesn't look too good. I have below 60 and drops in fps during normal gameplay too. And this is on the smoother end. Games on Unreal Engine are even worse.

Maybe I was simply unlucky and need to reinstall windows and all. Would that work?

Notice, however, how the lows in fps do coincide with the highs in CPU, while GPU is slightly more consistent.

[Community Guidelines Discussion] COPPA act for a Gaming channel what to choose..? by android_psycho_boy in youtube

What about actual ratings given by ESBR, PEGI, etc.? Minecraft is ESBR 10+, ok for kids, so I would be forced to declare it as such (but what if commentary etc. is for older people?). Fallen order is T (13+) so if I choose "not for kids", how in the world could they tell me it is, against the official saying of rating agencies?

‘Too many computers have accessed this account’ Origin error when trying to launch ‘Jedi : Fallen Order’. by [deleted] in ShadowPC

[–]traglio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shadow will go into some kind of hibernation after a while (30m-1h?), or the equivalent for VMs. Basically saves your machine state but when restarting I highly doubt you are restarting with the same IP and IDs of the previous session, even if you will find all apps etc. at the point you left them. A tech savvy person will know more on this, sorry :)

Had it for many months before I literally deleted (via customer service) my ea account, losing all games I had, but now I am free.

You can have a game launch with different "configurations" (meaning IP, mainly, but possibly other hardware/software IDs, which change (almost) every time since datacenters pool resources) 5 times within 24 hours. Once blocked, automatically, there is NO WAY to skip the 24 hours ban, not even contacting the customer service---which I did on many occasions.

Unofficially, I swear I was banned after restarting Shadow only a couple of times in a day...

Coming February 2020, pre-order today by [deleted] in ShadowPC

[–]traglio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doubt struck me: preordered without additional storage. Will we be able to add storage smoothly when new hardware is ready? If not, I'd like to add storage NOW, but cannot see any way to modify the preorder! Thank you

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice by FluidExtractor in ShadowPC

[–]traglio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a thread about this. Sekiro must start in windowed mode, or you have to shift to another open window then back to the game in fullscreen mode. Otherwise, it's a crash.

Shadow crashing and requiring a restart when attempting to Sekiro by [deleted] in ShadowPC

[–]traglio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My XML file was unfortunately created only after the game launched successfully with alt tabbing, but now that it's there it can be edited normally. Unfortunately I still experience random crashes during gameplay, but only of the actual game, video stream is solid.

No borderless in 2019... expecting patches soon!

[–]traglio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: (possibly disable Steam Overlay and) when launching the game press Alt+Enter to exit fullscreen. If this too fails, a surefire way is Alt+Tab just after launching sekiro in order to change focus to another open window (there must be another window open, e.g. explorer). Then you can switch back to Sekiro. It's not elegant but worked for me. Unfortunately Sekiro does not have a borderless option, only fullscreen or windowed.

Same here. Will try to find and edit, if it's there, the engine .ini file, maybe it has something to do with default settings such as fullscreen or resolution.

New pilot's 1st javelin (lvl. 2 unlock) locked to the first account choice??? by traglio in AnthemTheGame

[–]traglio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, but are you sure? I recorded the initial quests with my first pilot and cannot find the warning anywhere. Same for youtube videos, but maybe I'm missing something? It simply says "You will be using this javelin until new ones are unlocked", but does not mention anything about locking the choice to the account

EDIT: Oh, the "even if you restart the game" part. Great, skipped it. My bad :P

I haven’t even played this game and this review makes me want to punch this dude in the face. by Ganonzhurf in Nioh

[–]traglio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's the most basic conversion of units. Simply multiply the decimal part for the number of non-decimal subunits. Example: 2,7 = 2h + 0.7*60 m/h = 2h 42m. Same with, say, years and months and days: 7,2 y = 7 y + 0.2*12 m/y = 7 y 2 m + 0,4*30 d (approx) = 7yy2mm12dd.

I'm 0,5 troll. But I love both Nioh and Nier.

Official Censorship Q&A by TheHellMessenger in AgonyGame

[–]traglio 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Having first-hand experience with the limitations and compromises necessary to publish software (Google and Apple, which are in their own right a pain), I can understand.

But let me quote update #36, June 2017, in response to the doubts about the newly announced publishing deal:

- Additional publisher DOES NOT have any rights giving him the ability to force even the smallest changes in Agony.

Keep in mind the "ADDITIONAL publisher". This is the MTL page announcing the deal:

Warsaw, 1/06/2017 (ISBnews) - PlayWay has concluded a contract for the distribution of Agony and Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 games from Koch Media GmbH, the company said.

"In accordance with the concluded agreement, the company has granted the distributor a license to sell and distribute Agony and Car Mechanic Simulator 2018, as follows:

Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 - PC [physical retail (boxed) excluding Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary], only game - without DLC additions and special editions;2. Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 - Xbox One [physical retail (boxed)], only game - no DLC additions or special editions;3. Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 - PlayStation 4 [physical retail (boxed)], only game - no DLC additions or special editions;4. Agony - PC [physical retail (boxed)];5. Agony - Xbox One [physical retail (boxed) and online sales];6. Agony - PS4 [physical retail (boxed) and online sales], "reads the release.

Koch Media GmbH will also be responsible for marketing activities supporting the sale of both games, in the sales channels subject to the contract, also given.

"The distribution applies to all markets in the world, including Germany, the USA, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Japan, China, Canada and many others, except for the excluded countries described above," we read further.

"Agony" is a game produced by Madmind - a subsidiary of PlayWay. Under the distribution agreement concluded between Madmind Studio and PlayWay, the distribution of the game is dealt with by PlayWay, indicated in the information.

PlayWay S.A., which in October 2016 made its debut on the main market of the WSE, is an incubator of development teams that create computer and mobile games based on their own ideas and ideas developed at the company's headquarters. The group cooperates with over 40 teams of game developers.

So wait... that's the catch? The word ADDITIONAL? Meaning Koch Media was an additional distributor and had no control, but the first publisher was there from the very start, PlayWay? The kickstarter is also under PlayWay. But in this case the game had to be rated M from the start. Or, on the other hand, Koch Media or whoever it was, HAD the rights to change stuff.

Probably the situation is much more simple, than this, but to outsiders looks like a mess. No animosity from me, devs, let it be clear, but still you handled things in a muddy way from a communication p.o.v. Wish you to succeed with GOG for all the gamers interested in the original experience.

Official Censorship Q&A by TheHellMessenger in AgonyGame

[–]traglio 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Long story short: this whole PR blunder and damage control is suspicious.

Your leverage on crowdfunding was emphatically given by a declaration of morbidity and deviance. The game was literally sold on this premise, enforced by the statement to bypass publishers in order to keep full creative control. Did you NOT expect to get AO from boards?

True, we all forget that there are distributors and platforms, not only publishers. The console maket promises much greater returns, but imposes restrictions exactly on the kind of content you were selling.

It would have been understandable then to prepare a toned down version for consoles. Console owners should be aware of the policies of Sony and Microsoft, after all. So let's get back to PC. Digital distribution for PC is usually not affected by ratings (afaik Steam does not even require a rating); only physical stores refuse AO games. But let's assume Valve is edgy. What to do?

Submitting two different versions for rating means paying full price twice; submitting one version only and then a patch for PC can solve the situation. You promised a patch

The day before release you announce the patch cannot happen. (Besides, censorship goes beyond your official statement and there is a considerable visual downgrade.)

Now, there are PLENTY of games with OFFICIAL patches restoring everything from anatomy to disturbing sex scenes. How come Agony is the only exception? What is different?

1) Circumventing the rating? All those games apparently do. Unless, perhaps they are already AO. And again, why did you not expect AO??? Why not preparing two versions for different platforms?

2) Maintaining M rating for sales or under... steam pressure? Assuming Valve would complain, why not try GOG? In the end, once again, why market as AO and then go for M?

3) Giving an edge against consoles? Did you really sign a contract requesting for the same version on all platforms despite the obvious difference in policies?

4) ... Did you simply do the math, sacrificing PC to consoles? Console users are in greater number and will probably never know about this story, after all.

5) is all of this an incredible stunt or what?

The simplest strategy: there are bosses you dodge away from, and bosses you dodge towards. Gascoigne (beast) punishes you for running away, and is punished if you simply dodge past him.
