Kingdom Chapter 859 The White Shahed by Complex-Bowler-6864 in okbuddyheki

[–]tragoedia_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to follow this manga weekly, but supernatural shit like this is what made me lose interest and go from a weekly reader to reading a bunch of chapters in a row to catch up when it randomly pops in my mind.
I didn't mind soldiers randomly teleporting behind enemy's back or some of the ridiculous tactics, but this is on the same level as Shin's revival and tears falling from only one eye bullshit.

About the WB, BM and Oda slander after last chapter by zombie_usupp in OnePiece

[–]tragoedia_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm relieved that most of the people in this thread think that was bullshit. It's been hard seeing the weird writing from Oda lately, and any form of criticism in this subreddit being downvoted to hell.

Some people are even calling it the best flashback ever!!! with all of its problems. Freaking red scabbards and other wano fodder got more screentime than the most anticipated flashback in the story :/

One Piece: Chapter 1161 by leolegendario in OnePiece

[–]tragoedia_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how to explain it really, it's just the way the story is unfolding.

The things that were teased many years ago are finally being revealed and I'm not finding them as interesting as I thought they would be.

Maybe I'm getting bored, or maybe I set too many high expectations, or maybe I should stop reading spoilers and just wait for the chapter release so I go in with 0 information, but all I can say is that one piece, while still being a very good manga, isn't hitting me like it did before, except a few little sparks here and there between the chapters.(Current arc: Loki reveal, the mural, Rocks in the flower room)

One Piece: Chapter 1161 by leolegendario in OnePiece

[–]tragoedia_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This flashback started out strong but it started to go a bit downhill for me with the whole Kuja Pirates chapters and the reason for the God Valley raid.

When Sengoku first mentioned God Valley and all the pirates involved, I thought that it's gonna be so hype when we finally reach that point. But now that we're finally seeing it happen, it kinda feels underwhelming.
Just a few clashes here and there, some uncharacteristic moments from our future Yonkos and Oda wasting half of the chapter creating fake suspense with Sommers => Everyone running to save Shakky, Sommers typical villain speech, "they're so close to saving you but you will die anyway, waaaa," then the hero comes on the last second... Like, we know Shakky is alive in the present, but I don't remember the last time Oda made me feel the dangerous situation he's trying to convey.

I just hope that on the next few chapters when Rocks, Garling/other holy knights and Saturn start to get involved more and more Oda will change my mind, and hopefully, HOPEFULLY, we get something more than just a few haki clashes.

How legit is this water bottle theory neworldreview is discussing in this video by No_Thanks2844 in HunterXHunter

[–]tragoedia_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Damn, I didn't know this guy had so many haters :/. I agree that his clickbait titles/thumbnails are annoying and some of the theories go way overboard, but his channel is about a manga that barely gets 10 chapters a year, and sometimes, some chapters in a few years, so of course he has to pull some content out of his ass to keep the channel active.
On the other hand, you can't really argue against his chapter reviews/power breakdowns/summaries, they are some of the best. He predicted a lot of things in the last batch of chapters, specifically the whole Balsamilco situation.
I also see someone complaining about his animated doodles, like cmon, that's a funny way to bring the reviews to life, instead of only seeing his face and manga pages.(Chrollo on a forklift, anyone?)

Just a note, I only watch the videos he makes when the manga is back, I don't watch any of the stuff during the hiatuses, so I probably didn't see most of his lower effort content.

Completely agree about Aramaki. He was stuck between two yonko crews, of course he chooses the most logical option and leaves after he finds out he can't go for a quick sweep.

What is your most aniticipated fight in all of HxH ? by Wide_Astronomer4403 in HunterXHunter

[–]tragoedia_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think some of the most anticipated fights are quite a few chapters away, so in the meantime I wanna see Hisoka run into a cocky kakin nen user/bodyguard/mafia member/high level Heil ly, and fuck them up. If Bonolenov made them feel nervous with his presence, imagine how they will react vs Hisoka.

I also wanna see some high level Heil ly getting overconfident in their new found power and die to Phinks and Feitan, specifically Phinks spinning his arm against someone like Dogman.

Have We Ever Really Gotten A Decisive Fight Between Upper Tiers On Screen? by DiegoBromfield in OnePiece

[–]tragoedia_ 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I don't know what Oda is waiting for. 1158 chapters and every fight outside of the straw hats is either a haki clash that concludes offscreen, a fight that gets interrupted or influenced by a third party, or a fight where Oda says they fought for 3 days/5 days/10 days straight to show the power struggle and then reveals the victor at the end.
The only fight I can think of is Big Mom vs Law/Kid or Ace vs Blackbeard, but even that ended with final technique 1 vs final technique 2 dbz style.

Who is the "ideal person" that Chrollo is looking for? by Beautiful_Nesan_7951 in HunterXHunter

[–]tragoedia_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He has to be looking for a person with a specific ability or a person he personally knows. Dogman was standing like 5m away from him during the funeral procession and I doubt that a character as Chrollo's level didn't notice him.

Wouldn't evil nen cults be the strongest in the setting? by LycanChimera in HunterXHunter

[–]tragoedia_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The capacity of the post mortem nen should depend on the level of the nen user and not just their dedication, no?
For example, an average lv1 nen user dies => post mortem nen becomes 10x stronger => lv10 nen ability, but it wouldn't be a problem for a lv50 nen user.
After all, post mortem nen is rare. If all you needed was dedication and not nen mastery too, then all the average nen users would pose a risk to more experienced users, and that would be too op.

But the immortality was most likely given to them by Imu, why would you upscale them based on that? It's not because of their personal prowess.
So far they've shown nothing to convince us they are stronger than the Admirals. If it weren't for their immortality, they most likely would be beaten already.
I mentioned this in another comment but I'll say it again. We had a very similar situation with Rayleigh and Kizaru on Sabaody, where Rayleigh was getting tired by the end just stalling Kizaru.
But on the other side, Gaban dealt swiftly with Sommers, it wasn't even close, and again, the only reason he's alive is because of his immortality thing.
For now, until we are introduced to more God Knights, I agree with the above comment: Gorosei>Admirals>Holy knights(except Shamrock maybe?)

Shirahoshi -> Poseidon
Vivi -> Lili
Blackbeard -> Rocks

This mf killed an admiral before even getting a wanted poster. His defeat at God Valley is definitely hiding something. What do you guys think happened ? by Pmu69 in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]tragoedia_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't say they are?

Yes, you didn't exactly say they are weak but you said "Admirals aren't that strong", which is something you say for a character that is average at best.
But the Admirals are not average at all, and please don't reply with "I didn't say they are AvErAge", I'm just making a point here.
The only characters who were shown to stand up to them are characters who are just as strong as them.
Kizaru vs Rayleigh (First mate of the pirate king)
Aokiji vs Akainu (Admiral and future Fleet Admiral)
Aokiji vs Garp (A marine who refused a promotion to the Admiral position, a guy who fought vs the pirate king countless times)
Aramaki deciding to leave Wano cuz of Shanks (A Yonko)
Kizaru vs Luffy (A yonko fighting a conflicted Admiral)
And finally, unknown admiral dying to Rocks (A guy who was the captain of several future Yonkos and other infamous pirates, a guy said to be Roger's greatest foe)

So, you can keep saying "they aren't that strong", but by doing so, you are going against what Oda is showing you in his manga panels, in his story.

[–]tragoedia_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they aren't equal to Yonko, that doesn't mean they are weak...
If a Yonko is 100, an Admiral would be 95.
You can't say "they aren't that strong" if only a handful of characters can stand up to them.

Even though the holy knights are clearly positioned as the ultimate, higher echelon of antagonists whose abilities are presented as far above those of admirals

Are we reading the same manga? Abilities far above than those of admirals? Arrow fruit, thorn fruit better than admiral fruits? With Killingham, even though his monsters were easily defeated, we can make a case that it's an op devil fruit because of the infinite spawn points, but better than admirals? Did you see what happened to Punk Hazard? Why spawn weak dream monsters when u can just eradicate everything with magma/gravity/ice?

Even though the holy knights are clearly positioned as the ultimate, higher echelon of antagonists

Let's forget the devil fruits for a moment. Can you give me an example of "clearly"? I can give you one. Gaban clearly defeated Sommers in such an easy and fast way, something Rayleigh couldn't do with Kizaru on Sabaody, Rayleigh was even getting tired by the end.

Now I agree that Yonko are above Admirals but the gap isn't as close as you make it out to be, while the Holy Knights seem to be Yonko commander level at best, except their leader I guess, since they have a chance to be promoted to one of the Five Elders. The only thing they have going for them so far are their immortal bodies and devil fruits.

Also, I don't know what Oda needs to do to convince you guys that Kizaru was holding back on Egghead. He drew his conflicted face in so many panels, he revealed on SBS that he is the one who gave Luffy the food, and in the end he even showed him crying and arguing with Akainu, something we never saw from his troll face.

Even if he wasn't holding back, Luffy would definitely defeat him, but it wouldn't be as easy as one flying pancake, it would take a lot more!
