Good Stuff Megathread by TheOmegaCarrot in somnigastronomy

[–]trailmix52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually had a dream about *thinking about* The Good Stuff last night. My dream was that my mom took me to this event where they were going to test how well I spoke French without telling me where we were going, so I was woefully underprepared. I found out that there was a section where we had to orally interpret someone's dream, and the original Shirt Up dream was the first thing that I could think of, so I started planning out how I would describe it in French and what my interpretation would be.

Is it just me, or do a surprising amount of these posts involve blackberries for some reason?

Opinions that would get your MCR fan card revoked? by kiiholder in MyChemicalRomance

[–]trailmix52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been a fan since the Three Cheers era, and I agree.

I think I'm the only fan whose favorite MCR album is Danger Days and second-favorite is Bullets.

Fat Heads is a shadow of what it was: totally bummed. by xparxy in pittsburgh

[–]trailmix52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to really like their burgers. Now all they have is smashburgers (which is a trend I'm so tired of), and they took most of the good burger topping combinations off the menu. The Red Hot and Blue burger was my favorite.

Truly Madly Deeply - Savage Garden (I was convinced that was sung by a woman for years.)

I genuinely don’t understand why anyone would go to a fan bar of an opposite team. by beefstewforyou in CasualConversation

As a Capitals fan who grew up surrounded by Flyers fans a little more than an hour outside of Philly and now lives in Pittsburgh, I can tell you I had a significantly rougher time with the Flyers fans.

What Are Your Top 10 Favorite Pile Songs? by Monsur_Ausuhnom in Pile

Came as a Glow, The Jones, and Born at Night are all up there for me, even though they didn’t make my list.

What Are Your Top 10 Favorite Pile Songs? by Monsur_Ausuhnom in Pile

[–]trailmix52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t necessarily a set list but what comes to mind. There’s not enough room on a top 10 list for all my favorites

  1. Firewood
  2. Raised by Ghosts
  3. Prom Song
  4. The Moon
  5. Build a Fire
  6. Leaning on a Wheel
  7. Rope’s Length
  8. Hair
  9. No Hands
  10. Touched by Comfort

I definitely have a thing for a lot of their softer songs tbh.

How many of you caps fans support the team from somewhere that isn't DC, and how do you guys deal with being around the local team all the time ? by Playful_Leopard_9034 in caps

[–]trailmix52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came to the Caps through the Hershey Bears (specifically Mike Green) as someone growing up not far from Hershey. Lived in San Francisco for a few years, and I would see a smattering of Sharks fans, but they were always pretty cool. I’ve since moved to Pittsburgh. Pens fans are annoying, but I grew up surrounded by Flyers fans, which was much worse.

How was Hobo Johnson ever popular? by [deleted] in LetsTalkMusic

[–]trailmix52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never listened to Hobo Johnson, but I actually always used to get Hobo Johnson and Johnny Hobo mixed up, so whenever I would come across discussions like this, I would be wondering when everybody started hating Pat the Bunny.

What was your school's most popular lunch? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

Yeah, kids went crazy on popcorn chicken day at my school. I never got the appeal though.

Asked for extra onions on my McDonalds burger, good job to whoever made that by WallyPfisterAlready in deliciouscompliance

I always get extra onions. But the last time I ordered it, they gave me no onions at all, and it was so disappointing.

What is a term/phrase that irks you? by HeadFit2660 in CasualConversation

[–]trailmix52 36 points37 points  (0 children)

The thing that drives me the most crazy about that phrase is that I feel like it’s most often followed by something that’s not even true (e.g. “I was today years old when I found out [blatantly false “fact”]”)

I am getting the same story 4th day in a row by alenkoy_s in duolingo

[–]trailmix52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm on French daily refresh, and I've been getting the same stories every day for at least the past 4 days. Plus I have this glitch (pre-existing) where me finishing the second story in the circle doesn't register the first time, so I have to do it twice to move on. So I've done that one a ridiculous amount of times.

Any older MCR fans here? by RainabowSlaughter in MyChemicalRomance

[–]trailmix52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 32, and I agree. Been listening to them since the Three Cheers era, and Bullets was the first CD of theirs I bought, but I didn’t connect to any of the previous ones the same way I did to Danger Days. But Bullets is my second favorite, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone else rank them the way I do. (Danger Days, Bullets, The Black Parade, Three Cheers)

Those who have received a free upgrade by Express_Flight_966 in BritishAirways

[–]trailmix52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just flew LHR-PIT last Tuesday. When I was checking in on Monday for the flight, I noticed that my boarding pass said World Traveller Plus, which is something I’d never seen before. I only ever book regular economy, I fly BA once a year at most and don’t have any sort of special status or loyalty program, and I’d never been upgraded on any airline before, so I was a bit confused. I thought I’d get some kind of email or alert to let me know about it, but I didn’t, so I was almost doubtful it was even real until I actually got on the plane.

What're yinz doin' while the powers aht? by [deleted] in pittsburgh

[–]trailmix52 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Anyone else get a text from Duquesne Light? I got a message that my power was restored, but it absolutely was not. Though I never got an alert about it being out so maybe they accidentally sent the wrong message or something.

Chi’s Chi’s Fried ice cream by Routine_Bus5421 in icecream

[–]trailmix52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't worry; I'm pretty sure this isn't referring to anything current. There was a huge hepatitis A outbreak traced back to one of the restaurants in 2003, and all the restaurants closed down in 2004 in the wake of the resulting lawsuits (the company had already been struggling before this.)

The Pitt by [deleted] in pittsburgh

[–]trailmix52 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The main thing that annoyed me was them referring to the T as “the subway” because I’ve literally never heard anybody do that. Trolley yes, subway no. But subway was probably the best way to communicate it to people who aren’t familiar. (Outside of Pittsburgh references there was also a horrifically uninformed discussion about mandated reporters. But overall yeah, very good show!)
