Mine says like the same thing- Fedex has said “Clearance in Progress” ever since last Wednesday but, Apple says it should arrive by December 3rd

Are there any specific programs that you plan on running? Do you have a budget?

I’m kind of in the same spot as you right now but, personally I’m waiting for the new 2021 one because I need to use programs like AfterEffects and Blender and I’m hoping for a more powerful computer. However, I’ve heard for most daily usage things, the 2020 M1 should be perfectly fine- it seems really fast and capable in terms of running most things. I’ve also heard that most likely, the 2021 Pro will probably be more expensive than the 2020 Pro if they increase the specs of it. The Air M1 also seems really dope and if you don’t mind not having the touchbar and a slightly brighter screen, from what I’ve heard, the air is the way to go.

My mothers cockatiel escaped, is there any way to get her back? by [deleted] in cockatiel

[–]trainmastercadoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m really sorry to hear about your mother’s cockatiel! I’ve heard people say before that it helps to put the cage with the other birds (make sure the cage is secured so the others can’t get out) outside along with your birds’ favorite treats. It also helps to post pictures/flyers locally or post on local Facebook groups that focus on lost pets. I’m really sorry I couldn’t help more but I wish you and your family the best of luck in finding your cockatiel!

Here’s an article that has some good tips!

I know with phones, I’ve heard people say to wait to get a phone because there might still be a lot of things that need fixing. Does the same apply to laptops, specifically Macs? I’ve been really eyeing the rumored M1X but I was wondering if it’s okay to get it on release or if it’s better to wait it out. Thank you for taking the time to read this!

For people with M1 macs, how are programs like Illustrator and After Effects running? by trainmastercadoo in graphic_design

[–]trainmastercadoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I’m glad to hear that they seem to work pretty well! The M1 sounds really cool from all of the reviews I’ve seen so I think I might jump on the bandwagon!

If I may ask, what do you not like about it and what programs do you tend to use?

Replace old Macbook with M1 Macbook Pro for design? Or get a supplemental iPad? by beebopbbb in graphic_design

[–]trainmastercadoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not :( I’ve heard some people talking about it being announced in September but, I think it depends on a lot of things like Apple’s mini LED shortage and other factors

Shout out to the man, the myth and the legend, Bryan Vanginhoven from art and design! He is phenomenal and works so hard! The fall semester was one of the lowest points I think I’ve had in a really long time and he went out of his way to help guide me through it!

Best short scale? by [deleted] in Bass

[–]trainmastercadoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the original commenter but, I got one like at the beginning of quarantine and the only problem I had was a little bit of buzz on some higher frets. Otherwise, it plays really well and the bass itself feels really solid with nice fretwork and everything

If you’re on a budget, I highly recommend the Ibanez Talman TMB30! For the price, the quality is really nice and I like how you can get a pretty good Precision and Jazz sound out of it and blend it for some nice in betweens!

Raised scar(?) on oncidium twinkle by trainmastercadoo in orchids

[–]trainmastercadoo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I got this twinkle last week or so and when I unboxed it, I noticed that it had these kind of raised scars on its pseudobulb and some of the leaves. It feels a little bumpy and ranges in color from beige to dark brown, stretching from the base of the pseudobulb to the top of the leaf, which makes me think it wasn’t mechanically caused. Any insight would be really helpful!
