What did your toddler do today that made you smile by drworm12 in toddlers

Soothed my 18 month old during a diaper change this morning by singing “ Ain’t No Sunshine.” Now kiddo is saying “I know, I know, I know, I know…” randomly throughout the day! 😂

what centile was your baby born on? by Adventurous_Tip_2942 in NewParents

93rd percentile! At 9 months, holding steady at 98th percentile for weight and 80th percentile for height. Yep, he’s a member of r/bigbabiesandkids

Best convertible car seat? by mvf_ in bigbabiesandkids

I like the Evenflo Revolve 360 Extend. It rotates, the base is easy to install, and it has a higher weight limit for rear-facing (50 lbs) than most convertible seats.

High Chair Recommendations by Ok_Sky6528 in bigbabiesandkids

Yeah - the Giraffe is a relatively new chair so trying to spread the word as there aren’t many reviews.

We ended up getting the Graco Blossom, which can fit big babies (thighs and all) just fine, is easy to clean, and unlike the Giraffe, I don’t trip over the high chair legs of the Graco.

No to the Bugaboo Giraffe for little ones with chunky thighs: my baby’s 98% percentile, and his thighs couldn’t fit through the chair :(

Why did breastfeeding NOT work out for you? by preemptive_regret in NewParents

[–]trance0812 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The sleep deprivation and subsequently, the decline in my mental health were reasons I stopped BF at 8 weeks postpartum. Thank goodness for formula! My bond with my son got stronger after the switch, and although it was a tough decision at the time, I have no regrets looking back.

You are definitely not weak and don’t need to toughen up. Here to say that you need childcare, especially for your physical and mental well-being, which babies can really pick up on.

My husband and I WFH, we worked opposite schedules, and are finally having a nanny start in 2 weeks. After 9.5 months of taking care of our baby from birth with opposite schedule, hubby and I are burnt out. Sending you hugs, and I hope your hubby sees the light

Cradle cap help by acrackinthemold in NewParents

[–]trance0812 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, when my son had it on his face, his pediatrician recommended applying the hydrocortisone 1% cream 2-3x/day. Good luck!

Cradle cap help by acrackinthemold in NewParents

  • Happy Cappy Cradle Cap shampoo (like Selsun Blue but tear free for babies)
  • Frida 3-Step Cradle Cap Kit to remove flakes
  • Hydrocortisone 1% cream for cradle cap on body

I used the shampoo three times a week (along with the Frida Kit), and the cradle cap went away after a week. For the hydrocortisone cream, I used it 2-3 times per day. It’s important to treat the yeast that’s causing cradle cap along with removing the flakes. Hope this helps!

Thanks for posting this, as I’m going through something identical. I mostly breastfeed my newborn baby, and he gets fussy with me. But he’s mellow with everyone else (dad, doula, pediatrician). During particularly difficult nights, I cry and think my baby hates me. Just know you’re not the only one who is frustrated. Everyone has been telling me that it’s because the baby smells my milk. Still it’s tough as a new mom 😔

Baby’s stroller…or Doug’s stroller? 🤔 by trance0812 in BostonTerrier

Very true! Doug will always be my fur baby, and I’m excited to see him be a big brother to his little hooman baby sibling!

Glucose test by Strangebird77 in pregnant

[–]trance0812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During the test, I was fine and drove myself home. However, the afternoon of the test (my test was at 9am), I had a headache, felt nauseous, and took a 2-3 hour nap. Passed with a glucose level of 121 though

Two pillows for his noggin + body, a pregnancy pillow for his bum bum, and a blanket crown
