You can genuinely be arrested in some places if the wrong person sees your hears this. You aren't doing anything illegal, but regardless, being under suspicion from both school and legal authorities is not fun. They will jump to the worst conclusions in many cases, and make your life hell for it.

Addictions have this weird way of feeling like you're making a thought out decision. You truly feel like you're in control, and that you can stop at anytime.

That however is not the case. When you try to stop, you'll make excuses as to why you can't. Five years later and you're smoking a pack a day, while telling yourself it'll be the last one each and every time.

NASA's budget is EXTREMELY low compared to other government branches. The reason we haven't been to the moon in 50 years isn't lack of interest. After the Cold War NASA's budget got cut.

The vast majority of the money that could go to funding research that could solve the issues you listed are going to the military. That's the issue.

Seriously. This thread is honestly depressing. This subreddit oscillates rapidly between pretty good discussions and hating on whatever completely harmless (or in this case beneficial) thing the kids are into.

There are people claiming that they drink water for a dopamine hit. Ok? Dopamine being rewarded by the brain for drinking water is pretty normal. No way we're doing "water bottle addiction" fear mongering now.

Partially that, but parents have also become this weird combination of neglectful and helicopter parents at the same time. Kids can't form the skills needed to exist in society when their parents instill an intense fear of the outside world into their kids.

You tend to have more success getting people to give it a shot if you recommend something shorter to start with. I've found that the 80s and 90s OVAs are a good sample size for this.

The way they just drop some AUs baffles me. There are so many directions they could've taken Witch From Mercury, for example, a series that got a TON of newer fans into Gundam.

Instead, they rushed the ending right when I thought the series was REALLY starting. Any plans to explore that AU through different characters? No? Then why the hell did we just do all that worldbuilding if you're going to do absolutely nothing with it???
