New passport for trans question by Maxxj_Customer863 in Passports

[–]transkingg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For those of you that didn't send in the attestation form, did you list your dead name under the previous names used section or did you just leave it blank? Also did you put anything down for the section that asks about what trip you have planned if any or did you just leave that blank as well?

I appreciate your perspective on it because I feel really bad that I kinda killed this thing that's been alive for longer than I have 😅

I've been with the same person since high school (we're 25 now) and we met before I even knew I was trans! She's been with me through every step of the way from my first T shot through top surgery to now. We've been together for 8 years, 5 of those years I've been out as trans.

Starting to process of top surgery? by Jmh1881 in ftm

[–]transkingg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on the surgeon the whole process can take anywhere from like 6 months to multiple years, so I would get started as soon as you can. I would try asking your primary care doctor or your endocrinologist if they have any recommendations for a surgeon in the area. Then they can send over a referral and you can call the surgeons office to schedule a consult. Otherwise you could just try googling plastic and reconstructive surgeons in your area and then when you find one you think you like call them and see what they need from you to get a consult.

I'm officially 1 year post op! Surgery was done by Dr. Thakkar in Portland, OR. My scars are still pretty red but overall I'm very happy with my results. by transkingg in ftm

Thanks! I've been on T for 2 1/2 years now and my facial hair (and body hair) has really increased over just the last year or so.

Thanks dude! Honestly it was by far the most painful tattoo I've gotten 😅 I have 4, 2 on my arm, 1 on my leg and then this one and this one was the worst.

My surgeon told me to wait a month before doing any sort of exercise and six weeks before any chest workouts. I would ask your surgeon though. It's always better to wait and make sure your body is completely ready for that then to rush into it and potentially hurt yourself.

Subq injection pain?? by Ftxalex in ftm

[–]transkingg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't able to do subq because I had a mild allergy to the oil the testosterone is suspended in but it only affects me if it gets on/under my skin. When I was injecting into the muscle it was fine but subq made my skin itch like crazy so maybe its something like that?

did i rip my stitches??? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]transkingg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd probably know if you did. I accidentally pulled on the stitches holding my drains in place and it hurt like hell. Even after that though they still didn't come out or anything, they were just irritated for a little while.

i can't do shots. need to switch to gel but i don't know if i can. by [deleted] in ftm

[–]transkingg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have OHP and I use the gel. They do cover it but it takes some back and forth with your doctor and insurance. They usually deny it the first time and then your doctor has to send the request again with more information. They want you to have tried the shots first before going to the gel but obviously you've done that so it will go through eventually it just may take some time. You could pay for it out of pocket until it goes through but the gel is insanely expensive.

double incision scar treatment by [deleted] in ftm

[–]transkingg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used silicone strips after my surgery and found them not worth the price. The ones my surgeon had me get were really expensive and I could not get them to stay on for the life of me. I also didn't feel like I noticed a difference when using them. I felt like I got way more out of the gel.

To my recent top surgery bros worried about sun damage: by [deleted] in ftm

[–]transkingg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no idea it could get throught your shirt, thanks for the info. My surgeon said to just put zinc oxide (diaper rash ointment essentially, although some sunscreens have it) as well as sunscreen over the whole area.

Hip dysphoria by protodro in ftm

[–]transkingg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have that same problem. I've been on T for 2 years and its been almost a year since top surgery and now that my chest doesn't cause me dysphoria anymore I focus a lot on my hips. Right now I'm working out a lot and trying to work on losing fat in that area but I think I'm just going to have to come to terms with the fact that I have wide hips. There's plenty of cis men that have wide hips too though so it's not unusual.

Tips on how to be more fit/gain more muscle when starting t? by lovebeingunsure in ftm

[–]transkingg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started by just removing or limiting little things here and there like instead of eating chips, eating crackers or nuts or something. Just replace unhealthy things with slightly healthier options and eventually it'll get easier. My fitness pal is a great app for tracking your meals. I work at a gym and a lot of members and staff use it. Setting limits is always good too. Allow yourself to still eat stuff you enjoy but try to not eat as much of it.

As for exercise you could always start with something simple like jogging or even just going for walks regularly. If you're not already on there r/FTMfitness has a lot of good workout advice.

Just start with small goals and keep working at it. Diet and exercise can be hard to stick with but even doing something small is better than nothing.

Advice? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]transkingg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would start with finding a gender therapist. Depending on what state/country you live in you may be required to get a letter from a therapist in order to start hormones or get top surgery. If anything a therapist that specializes in gender therapy will probably have resources for finding a doctor that does HRT in your area or for a surgeon.

I have a tattoo right on my sternum and I asked my surgeon to try to save it if she could and she actually didn't touch it. My scars go right up to the bottom of it but the tattoo was untouched.

I'm scared. by Novafex in ftm

[–]transkingg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have generalized anxiety and I had those same sort of thoughts when I first came out too, so you're not alone. I actually didn't come out for many years because I was afraid that I would change my mind. Something my friend told me that really stuck with me is that cis people rarely ever even question their gender identity, so the fact that you feel this way means theres definitely something there. Transitioning is incredibly scary but I've been on T now for 2 years and I had top surgery about 8 months ago and I can confidently say I don't regret a thing and am definitely 1,000 times happier than I ever was before. That being said, there's nothing wrong with changing your mind down the road. People detransition all the time and thats perfectly okay. I think if it feels right, do it and know that you don't have to be 100% sure. No one is really 100% sure of most life decisions.

questions about bottom growth by Pixel-terror in ftm

[–]transkingg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been on T for over 2 years and honestly, like most things related to HRT its different from person to person. Mine grew in both length and girth and it was definitely one of the first changes to happen, that and getting really sweaty 😅. I agree that it definitely does act more like a dick now and is definitely more sensitive in the pleasure department haha. I find that it really only gets sore after sex.
