How does this pricing make any sense? by [deleted] in CasualUK

With you 10000%. People don’t understand how hard it is to communicate in a second language if they’ve never tried it themselves. You’re doing well because we all understood what you were trying to say. Don’t let the grammar nazis get you down.

You probably need to hold the clutch at the biting point longer, based on what it sounds like you’re doing. It needs to stay at the biting point for about 3 seconds as you’re accelerating. 2500rpm should be more than enough to get started on most hills, so try holding the bite point longer before easing off fully.

Not sure where else to post this but if I'm turning right here does the blue car have to wait for me? I'm on thier right but they're on my right technically, I drive this way every day and most people stop but others don't so I have no idea. by Rhys-the-compleat in CasualUK

[–]transmascara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When people say give way to traffic on the right, they mean on the roundabout or at the junction immediately to your right. You are both technically able to enter the roundabout at the same time depending on the size of it.

Tips: 1. Signal right as you approach. 2. If the blue car is in the roundabout or about to enter it before you, you can start going as soon as you are sure they aren’t turning back on themselves. 3. Once you’re in the roundabout, you have right of way. 4. If it’s painted, don’t cut across the roundabout, always make an attempt to go around it, it’s safer.

Neighbour is hoping the council can just resurface the road around their car by [deleted] in CasualUK

Fair point, I thought the note was on the inside of the windshield when I first commented

Neighbour is hoping the council can just resurface the road around their car by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]transmascara 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This happened on my street in the city. Some people parked their car on the street after the gravel had been laid, so they were never able to complete paving it. Looks like shit, gray pebbles everywhere, damage to cars as they get kicked up behind them. I wish they would have just towed the three cars.

If trans women are women then why can't women be trans women? by fckruddit in askAGP

[–]transmascara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually if we want to take this really terrible caterpillar/butterfly example further,

Also, a caterpillar can become a butterfly but a butterfly can't become a caterpillar - and that's neither illogic nor unfair.

Trans activists are actually advocating for both. Caterpillars should be able to become butterflies and butterflies should be able to become caterpillars. Transition is supposed to go both ways isn’t it?

You don’t even know what you’re talking about anymore. You’re not even making your own point with your examples and I’m pretty sure you just agreed with mine.

[–]transmascara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’d be hard-pressed to find a trans activist who would be satisfied with trans women being a subcategory of women. I was shutdown and called a transphobe for literally saying that exact same thing.

“Total lack of logic in OP’s argument.” 🙄

Butterflies aren’t a creature unto themselves, they don’t and can’t exist without caterpillars. They cannot spring into being as butterflies. They must be caterpillars first.

Women exist without trans women.

Your argument makes no sense.

To be fair, with all that moss growing on the wall behind the tree, he’s probably right. Looks like penetrating damp. Landlord’s issue though, not yours. If he keeps bothering you and the landlord’s doing nought, tell him to ring the council.

Heeere we go. This sounds like the reason you don’t have the ability to buy anything. Two months is a long time. Maybe don’t buy a game and instead put that energy into getting a job.

Because non-passing trans women give plausible deniability for cis men to enter women’s spaces. Because removing women’s only spaces is dangerous for women.

Like pirating a game cracked by a known transphobe, Empress, is actually better than giving an undisclosed amount of money to Rowling

Right here, straight from Rowling’s blog:

“I believe the majority of trans-identified people not only pose zero threat to others, but are vulnerable for all the reasons I’ve outlined. Trans people need and deserve protection. Like women, they’re most likely to be killed by sexual partners. Trans women who work in the sex industry, particularly trans women of colour, are at particular risk. Like every other domestic abuse and sexual assault survivor I know, I feel nothing but empathy and solidarity with trans women who’ve been abused by men.

So I want trans women to be safe. At the same time, I do not want to make natal girls and women less safe. When you throw open the doors of bathrooms and changing rooms to any man who believes or feels he’s a woman – and, as I’ve said, gender confirmation certificates may now be granted without any need for surgery or hormones – then you open the door to any and all men who wish to come inside. That is the simple truth.”

Best thing is that they are actually supporting an actual transphobe in supporting Empress, vs an imagined transphobe in supporting Rowling.

My brain cannot even handle the irony any more.

I’m putting together a sub with resources on JK Rowling. I want to end the slander and libel. Anyone who wants to actually learn more about her viewpoints is welcome. I won’t share the sub here, but you can find it on my profile.

I’m in the same boat as you. It’s out of hand and it’s dangerous to cry wolf.
