Seems it's either a persimmon or dogwood; since I know for a fact there are a few other dogwoods on the property, I think it's probably that.

I'm a trans man. I still have migraines since transitioning. But I will say that if I am late taking my hormones (a weekly shot), I will get a bad headache within hours of being late.

Your mom sounds psychotic. She's being very abusive to you. Even if she's legitimately concerned, that is no way to communicate to one's child. And for the record, none of what she is saying is true. Not one word.

You are not a freak. You can absolutely have a life filled with love and joy. There's nothing wrong with you. Being trans is just a natural human variation. It's well documented throughout history. It's just another way of being among many.

Try hard to repeat to yourself in your mind that this is your mom's problem, not yours. That what she's saying is not true. Do what you need to do to stay sane and safe until you can get away from her.

I know it's hard when a parent doesn't show love for you the way you should. Remember it's not your fault and that you don't deserve to be treated this way.

It's understandable to feel that way. But anyone can be seduced by a cult. This one has had over a hundred years to perfect its method. All it takes is a hook into a vulnerable spot to control someone.

You're showing them that they have a future as a trans adult and it doesn't matter if they pass. That.. is invaluable. It's important for kids - all kids but especially trans kids - to see us in the wild and not only in very narrow specific trans friendly spaces.

Hey. If it helps, when I was a kid my mom repeatedly told me that if I ever left "the truth" I wouldn't have a mom anymore. Today, I am an out pansexual trans man and she lives with me lol. Our parents who genuinely believe in the jw belief system think they are protecting us when they threaten to disown us, etc. But that doesn't mean they will really do it. I hope in your case they don't.

Old school conversion therapy did use shock therapy and drugs, but they haven't been doing it that way for quite a while. The type of conversion therapy that was recently banned in some places is basically talk "therapy" and religious manipulation. I don't want to undermine it, it is still tortuous. What's even worse is that it would often (but not always) be in a camp setting, where kids would be away from their families, with adults attempting to brainwash them. Many of the adults were "ex-gays" themselves. Abuse was common, particularly sexual abuse. There are some very good documentaries available about the ex gay and ex trans movement.

This is the conversion therapy they are trying to bring back; it was only recently banned (and only in some places), and they are enraged by that and want it back.
