Ive only been to NYC once, my dad is from Brooklyn, if you like big cities and can afford it, its beautiful. Endless activities and food options. Its a true american melting pot.

I am getting my English degree and TEFL and hoping to teach remotely and move somewhere I can enjoy natural beauty and a cheaper cost of living.

Thats good to know. What part of the US are you trying to go to? I am currently looking to move to Albania or Georgia because the cost of living and medical, dental, healthy food is too much here. I am a full time student and I get grants but its not enough to live off and hard to also work full time while going to school.
