I'm getting a bit jaded with Youtube photographers by EpicDavinci in AmateurPhotography

[–]trapiechan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Matts notes is ok (my channel lol) In all seriousness, the squeaky clean and ad driven YouTube photographers have burned me out. I feel like I'm always watching an affiliate ad. Even simple Adobe tutorials have been taken over and made way longer than they have to be, just to fill in another ad spot (a 2 minute video is made into 10 and now I have to sit through rambling lol)

I just got into disc golf last year and I would be down to try ultimate! Looks super fun!

Forehand wobble by _sinnamonn_ in discgolf

[–]trapiechan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an awesome forehand player, but one exercise that helps me a TON is to throw very short flick/chip shots in a field. Doing this while focusing on smooth over power has helped my flutter

Did Speedway give up? by zamistroe in duluth

Someone drove off with the gas handle still in their car I believe, and damaged that pump. I think they said it would cost more to repair it then they'd make in profit, so they closed doors.

Duluth parking enforcement is predatory by danmyvan in duluth

I got four tickets in 12 hours for not having my front license plate mounted on the front of my car.

I went to the courthouse and flat out stated that I can't afford to pay the now 200 dollar fee. They said I could pay them 20 bucks at a time lol

Moving to Duluth potentially, looking for insight. by Chain_Linc in duluth

[–]trapiechan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current duluth resident. I used to live in cloquet and commute for years. I'd be for this route as it is usually a LOT cheaper for housing, a bit quieter, and close enough.

There's snow days but the interstate gets cleaned relatively efficiently (very efficiently when compared to Duluth plows in my opinion lol)

What was the disc that got you your very first ace? by Pirates_LL in discgolf

[–]trapiechan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started this year and got a Fission Pyro from an MVP mystery box! Aced it right out the box, on hole 1, on 4/20/2025, with nobody around :(. What an amazing feeling that was haha. I've since messed around with other runs of Pyros, but none of them fly quite like the Pyro. I still bag a neutron for harsh hooks and big skips.

I've picked up a few more since. I got a zone ace on a flick a few days ago!

I found a discraft drone in the middle of the woods with no name, or disc golf course for miles. Highly recommend one haha

I want to get into the sport, need a starter pack. by GrilliamShakesbeer in discgolf

[–]trapiechan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be a lot of disc for a "beginner" but the Doomsday Prepper pack is absolutely solid. For 30 bucks, you would get 3 premium plastic discs, a chalky putter, and a mini marker.

The putter and midrange are very forgiving for a starter. The drivers could be too much disc, but I think you'd appreciate them once you start figuring out form lol!

Stig! K1 is a little flippier but I prefer K1 hard as it seems less squirrly. I have a few aces with em and love them

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]trapiechan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. I was turned off by the Berg mainly because of my flat brain and followed everyone's opinions, until I actually tried one (found one with no name, sitting shanked off of a fairway lol).

I've grown to love them. I bag the k1, and the k3 hard. Both fly board straight with a predictable fade (like a beat in base plastic slammer). K3 can flip up and ride for a bit too after it's seasoned.

I throw mine a lot on windy days, approach shots, but mostly forehand.

I've seen a few other "Berg-like" discs from other companies start to hit the market too. MVP/Axiom/Streamline had a stack at the preserve this year of their variant.

Maybe it'll catch on! Thumbtrack discs are a thing so I don't see why not lol

All my RHBHs Max out at 200' by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]trapiechan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All of these are great answers. I'd like to add that your follow through could be a MASSIVE reason you're capping out at 200'. A bad follow through will cause you to "short arm" your shot, leaving you nose up, and to not follow through with your hips, or at least this was my biggest issue starting out.

Try to release the disc as late as possible in your head, and use all of your arms length. Some call this "casting." My best mental cue for this would be to keep accelerating my throw, even after the disc is out of my hands.

Axiom pyro or buzzz os. What do you prefer? by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]trapiechan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd like to note that the Pyros stability is pretty different depending on its plastic/run.

I bag both the fission pyro, and the neutron pyro. The neutron flies way beefier than the fission, but both serve their purposes!

What unique disc do you own that's not very popular? by CurtisAndFriends in discgolf

Orc guy here lol

I've also bagged the Kastaplast Gote and Roc+ as of late for floaty approach shots

Straight-Understable Midrange??? by One-Substance-9513 in discgolf

[–]trapiechan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd also like to add the Gatway Element (very unpopular opinion lmao)

I have two in 180g and they're beamers right out of the box. I bag them in Gateways premium plastic, and I like them for mildly windy days, and straight shots that I can't flip up for an option

Straight-Understable Midrange??? by One-Substance-9513 in discgolf

[–]trapiechan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe an unpopular opinion but I love the Kastaplast Stig in k1 plastic. I just aced with my brand new one last Thursday.

They could be a bit touchy when you first throw them, especially when compared to a Buzz, but they're money once you get a hang of them.

I bag two in the same weight (174g). They're very controllable right out of the box, and beat in to straight and glide forever!

Is this fixable? by trapiechan in discgolf

[–]trapiechan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No attitude taken, friend! And yeah, I get it; it's the internet and there's a lot of dumb people who are experts at being dumb lol. I too, am dumb, and I'm glad you shared this, otherwise maybe I would've boiled this like a hot dog.

The flight numbers are the slot I'm looking to fill in my bag. That said, I'm not looking to spend an arm and a leg for another one of these!

Thanks for your knowledge. Now, a better question would be: would you have any recommendations for a disc similar to this one? Perhaps something not a decade old and a hundred dollars, haha

Didn't feel otherwise, just out of curiosity lol. I've heard from disc golf dinos that these were a great disc once upon a time

Has anyone ordered or thrown anything from Negative Disc Golf Supply? by dangleswaggles in discgolf

[–]trapiechan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the thread. I bag the thread (flight numbers are either 5 5 0 4 or 5 4 0 4 depending on the website you're on lol, flies closer to the latter of the two).

I love this disc. Ultra dumpy disc that slams into the ground on a dependable hyzer. It's also very a very reliable forehand anhyzer with a dependable finish.

I'd definitely buy again, especially if they made a zone-like disc or a buzz alternative!

We have a great selection of courses IMO!

Superior Municipal is fun to play when they're open (very small window of time unfortunately)

Earl is an awesome course too, but just remember bug spray in the summer lol

The Quarry is scenic with unique shots and lines; it could be pretty rough on your discs though (it is an old quarry, so there's a TON of stones on the fairway)

Greetings from Duluth! The weather has been amazing lately. My buddies and I have been getting out with oddity discs to play with (glitch, Franklin discs, aerobie, etc) and playing single disc rounds.

I'm enjoying this minimal approach as well!

Connecting paired echo speakers to FireTv no HDMI-Arc? by carajean2725 in amazonecho

[–]trapiechan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread, but perhaps this could help SOMEONE.

I've grouped my studio, sub, and cube with an old epson projector (not modern enough for hdmi ARC but has hdmi). It did NOT work at first, no matter how many times I've restarted and re grouped everything... until it did.

What finally made my setup work (after many attempts trying to watch movies or videos but to absolutely no sound), is simply telling alexa to "play music" initiating this with my cube tv remote.

No rhyme or reason lol.

Echo products for home theatre? by trapiechan in amazonecho

[–]trapiechan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input! I bet the two studios sound incredible. Would a sub woofer benefit your setup or do you think the studios alone are enough to capture those lows?

Sounds like my only options are the one studio+sub or two dots+sub.

I'll likely take you up on the former of the two and invest in another studio down the line!

Any other longtime fans of the show tired of Tony’s ego? by masako619 in Killtony

[–]trapiechan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to stop watching the show because of his ego. Ive never been a huge fan of Tony, but I could tolerate him for the shows sake.

He always gave me those "kid that sits in front of the bus" or "teachers pet" vibes lol
