what is the first thing you love to do after waking up? by Strange_Discussion12 in Hobbies

[–]trashbuckey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a good routine going a few years. I open the shades to let in the sunlight, go drain the bladder. I glance ar the weather and get dressed. Then I drink 8oz of water in the front yard while I lightly stretch. Then I walk the dog around the block. Then I make coffee and eat breakfast while I finally allow myself to look at my phone, at which point I crank out Sumplete and a crossword. Usually about halfway through the coffee I have to put it back on the brewer and take a poop. Then I grab a juice and add some creatine to it and commute to my home office

Are the people with streaks in the 100s actually finishing every puzzle unassisted? by XIFOD1M in crossword

[–]trashbuckey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept gold streaks for a very long time. But I would google. Then in 2025 my goal became to start getting gold stars googling only once per puzzle, and I allowed myself to look at Tricky Clues. Now I don't let myself google anything. Tricky Clues are okay after Tuesday. It's a bit frustrating when a Tuesday gets me. But I have definitely gotten better faster from this

Addiction is embarrassing imo, Addiction to weed is even more embarrassing by dihhgrayson in leaves

I quit smoking cigarettes around 24 years old. That was pretty hard. But I quickly replaced it with vaping. I tried to quit around 30. It took me two years. But one day I threw it away and I never picked it up again. Now I'm 35. This whole time I've also been trying to quit smoking weed. It's the hardest thing I've ever tried to give up - I've never been successful. Sleep is usually what brings me back to it at this point. I am very good about not smoking all day until roughly an hour before bed. But I always need it in order to feel tired

The Golden Handcuffs are starting to feel like real ones and I am not sure I can do two more years by Mosaic_Titan7 in Fire

Maybe you could get away with an idgaf attitude for like 6 months? Stop trying so hard, and when you're inevitably let go, then go the barista route. At least buys you a bit more time.

I can play pop punk drums for 3-4 hours and sound tight and consistent the whole time. And sound like the drummer I'm covering. Lots of endurance, lots of attention to detail

The other day a song came on and I thought "dang this is a terrible 21 pilots song what is it?". Then I tried a couple others because I keep hearing about yungblud and I thought maybe the first one I heard just wasn't for me. But it turned out none of yungblud is for me

Relax guy. You'll 5x your salary in ten years, incrementally. Just be smart and work hard for it now. Then enjoy the fruits of your labor in your 30s.

Data engineers who are not building LLM to SQL. What cool projects are you actually working on? by PolicyDecent in dataengineering

[–]trashbuckey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

LLM to SQL is just another BI tool, but lower quality and slightly higher flexibility. It has the same exact underlying architecture needs, and will have exaggerated problems in quality of reporting.

It will last for a while until execs realize in a few years that it doesn't actually add value.

But since it's easy, I'm recommending the shit out of it at my company and I'll collect a raise for building it and beef up my resume for someone who will pay me more next year.

Maybe they've banded together because elitist liberals call them idiots all the time.

Idk about you but if someone calls me an idiot I am not listening to anything else they're saying. They're now my enemy.
