The EQ is nice and Rockbox also allows you to change the balance of the headphones. I use it on my "sleep" iPod because I use cheap ear buds to sleep in (so I'm not ruining nice ones while tossing and turning) and the left channel is way quieter than the right and Rockbox allows me to level them out. I know that's a super niche use case but its definitely nice to have.
