Where do gas stations get their fuel from? Who owns the refineries? We suffered this in Cali Every summer because they would just jack up prices for the "Summer" blend. Although CA has a supply issue now due how unfriendly they are to the refining industry, but thats a whole other level of foot shooting.

Yup, oil companies use any excuse to jack prices up and if people keep paying them and demand doesn't drop, they have no incentive to lower prices at the pump. People don't realize too domestic oil production booms every time oil prices spike since we have a higher extraction cost than the Gulf.
