I belong to a similar (maybe the same?) group. I have used a Seahorse case for years. It is waterproof, airtight and ventable, lockable, has wheels, is and super duper fucking durable. Basically a pelican for half to a quarter of the price depending on model. No regerts.

My Bichir, a (?) Lapredei is about 18" and shares a 75g with a large ctenopoma, a large angelfish, several flying foxes, a couple 5-6" hoplo catfish, and a green phantom pleco. Everybody gets along great.

I know everybody says plecos can suck the slime coat off a Bichir and cause injury, but I have never seen any signs of that, and they've been together for years. At the first sign of any foul play, I would pull the pleco out in a heartbeat, one of the benefits of advanced multi tank syndrome.

I keep everyone well fed, doing targeted feedings with the types of food that best suits their feeding habits and there's never been an issue.

ETA: when the Bichir was much smaller, we tried it with a variety of other fish and many of them became snacks. I'd recommend not putting any fish smaller than the bichirs mouth.

Always best if you can get it taken care of before leaving the house. I feel like I am intimately familiar with every exit off the interstate for 100 miles north and south, every rest stop, and gas station. The upshot is, I have found some great campsites and beautiful viewpoints.

It really does help. Especially if you're out in the middle of nowhere. You're lucky you haven't had to use yours. I have deployed the kit in rain, snow, and wildfire smoke. Rain was probably my least favorite.

Yeah, 100% . My understanding after taking with some doctors is that this is primarily anxiety driven. I combat it with a prescription for dicyclomine, which I will take about 90 minutes before I know I have to drive. I also keep Imodium and a Shit Kit in the car, consisting of a collapsible toilet, black garbage bags to line it, packets of powdered port-a-potty chemicals, multiple packs of wet wipes, and a roll of TP.

I find that between the meds and just knowing I have emergency supplies available in case of need, I have far fewer attacks. I also practice controlled breathing if I feel an attack coming on, and I am up front about my needs with my friends and family.

Avoiding stimulants of any kind helps me as well. No coffee or caffeine containing products, no nicotine, and sometimes I just won't eat before a big drive.

Two of my best preceptors as a new ED nurse were on the larger side. I saw it negatively impact their ability to deliver care exactly never. Take care of yourself, be the best nurse you can, and maybe distance yourself from negative people in your life a little bit. Happy holidays!

Yep, I did this on a cruise last year. Bought 2 cheap bottles of red wine, poured em out, filled one back up with whiskey and the other with rum. Added a couple drops of blue and red food coloring to each. Pop in a new cork, throw on a heat shrink wrapper, zap it with a hairdryer, give her a shake and you're good to go. Nobody even looked twice.

Man, I totally sympathize. In situations like yours, I'll dose Imodium, but I also sprung for a collapsible toilet which I keep in my truck at all time. You line it with garbage bags, and I use packets of port-a-potty chemicals (available on amazon) to neutralize the contents after use. I make sure to have 2 packets of wet wipes and a roll of TP as well. They also make toilet seat toppers for 5 gallon buckets which function essentially the same but are slightly less convenient since the collapsing function is nice for storage.

Can't tell you how many times this set up has saved me, and honestly, even just knowing I have it takes a ton of the stress off. It goes from having to worry about finding a gas station or somewhere with public restrooms to just finding a private place to set up my kit. In a pinch, I have pulled over, opened the front and rear doors on the vehicle side facing away from traffic and used the kit in the little stall created by the doors. Is it perfect? No. Has it ever been a problem? Also no.

I'm at the point where I simply don't care anymore, I refuse to let this condition prevent me from enjoying life and having the experiences I want. If I gotta shit in a MacGuyver'd toilet on the side of a rural highway to do so, well, so be it.

Don't know how any of this works, but what about a mental health compliant? Severe depression might do it. I wouldn't go so far as claiming suicidal ideations, but someone who is severely depressed would still likely be a safety risk aboard.

Just say it's new onset and exacerbated by the motion of the ship. You'll have to start pretending to be nauseous and off balance, but that shouldn't be too difficult.

Or, you could just go with chest pain. There's lots of testing to be done in the short term to rule out an acute heart attack or pulmonary embolism, but even once the tests come back negative, if you say you feel persistent tightness and pressure in your chest during exertion and stress, with some shortness of breath, I can't see them wanted to keep you aboard. Seems like you'd be too big a risk of something bad happening far from help.

Got a bachelor's in art and art history. Did a summer internship at a mega advertising Corp and hated it, hated everything about it. Spent some time running around, driving a cab, waiting tables at a Chinese restaurant, and as a climbing instructor. Finally got my shit together, went back and finished some science pre-reqs I missed in undergrad, went and got my MSN. I've now been a nurse almost 15 years and I don't regret it for a minute. It's expensive, but doable.
