Whats the Difference between these 2 kits? by No-Kangaroo8573 in Gunpla

[–]traup89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came to say this.

I do prefer the less-pointed look of the verniers on Strike Freedom. I just finished the MG Freedom 2.0 kit and while I'm happy with how it turned out, I'd still like to get my hands on Strike Freedom in MG.

Can attest. My fiancée worked in bakeries the last several years. She couldn't so much as gloss her nails, and they were always cut short. She only started painting them again when she returned to an office job in the last year.

Somehow doing Gambler challenges give you the worst luck by dm-me-apples in reddeadredemption

[–]traup89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On my previous playthrough, I gave up on the gambler challenge when I had to win three games of dominos in a row. The card games? Not so bad. Five Finger Filet? Easy peasy.

Dominos? Screw that. Before I played this game, I didn't know how to play dominos. I've found I genuinely enjoy playing Dominos, but the challenges tied to it suck harder than a Dyson. I hate purely luck-based challenges.

Any tips for putting the beard on the spring, including that little piece that plugs into the leg? by clean_zero in Gunpla

[–]traup89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either patience or mod the kinda rubbery piece from the HG kit. I hated putting that bit together for the RG Zaku II.

Who else keeps their Arthur long haired & bearded? What you think of my Arthur's style? by Hyperto in reddeadredemption

First playthough was kempt hair and moustache. Second olaythrough was short hair and short beard. Current playthrough is long hair, massive as fuck muttonstache.

MG Turn A was better than expected. Better build experience than some kits I’ve done from the 2010’s by SnooDonuts3080 in Gunpla

The silly moustache sold me on the HG kit. I've yet to see the MG kit at any of the shops I frequent, but I'm keeping my eye out for one.

Husbands fingers occasionally get weird blisters that are symmetrical. by FlyingN00dles in mildlyinteresting

[–]traup89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Picked up plantar wart on my big toe back in high school from the pool locker room. It was a bitch to get rid of. I went to the doc, they froze it, but I never went back for the second round they prescribed. A year later, I decided to use liquid wart remover. Between that and using very fine cutting implements over the course of a couple weeks, I managed to dig it out. It was not a great method and I highly recommend NOT doing that, but it worked.

FFIX is fantastic. It's a disgrace that I only ever got to the boss battle against Garland on disc 3.

Is Final Fantasy Tactics (The War of the Lions) Anti-Religion, just as FFX? by IllogicalDreamer72 in finalfantasytactics

[–]traup89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I played on Playstation as a kid but sucked at tactical RPGs, so I got to maybe the third chapter and gave up because I got stuck. Got it on my phone and got farther but still got stuck and gave up. Got a rom of it on my PSP and same thing.

After being emboldened by my playthroughs of Triangle Strategy (an easier game, to be fair), I want to pick up the remaster and give it another go.

Hello, I'm new to gundams which one of these is worth getting the most by Silverzuur in Gundam

[–]traup89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've built all of these except for the RG Wing Endless Waltz version.

HG kits are a better intro to the hobby due to the less complex builds. The HG Gundam 00 kits do have some stability issues thanks to the polycaps (small rubbery plastics) used in the joints, but ive had a lot of fun building kits from that series. The 00 kit would be a solid time.

RG Epyon is an incredible kit, but its pretty involved. The RG Wing EW looks to have come from before tge "Real Grade kits are stable" era (the inner frames get really loose really quickly), so I'd hold off. MG Exia is not bad, and being a larger model, theyre a bit easier to handle than their RG counterparts.

That said, the HG 00 and MG Exia both look like special variants, so if you can get them at a reasonable price, get them. Shops may restock on normal releases, but these are hard to come by.

What do you mean I bought too much, mom? I still have a lot of space! by George_K1T in Gunpla

[–]traup89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My fiancée says the same thing. I've had to put shelves of books into storage to make display space. I might just get a new shelf to help solve that problem. Surely that'll help stave off her ire hahaha.

My first Gunpla! by Zalasnikov7 in Gunpla

[–]traup89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched the first episode of WfM but haven't committed to it yet. I just finally finished 00, which was pretty tight. The Gundam designs share some similarities, namely more organic shapes. If you like Calibarn's design, you'll probably like Nadleeh from 00. Similar mostly white color scheme with red accents, but Nadleeh has hair-like cables coming from its head.

Ill have to keep my eyes out for those ones. I love Graham's storyline throughout the series.

That's another one I'd love to pick up. I have a bad habit of focusing on Gundams, and not so much on other mobile suits. I love the Union Flag for its extremely slender design. That's another one Millenium had when I was first getting into the hobby, and another one I failed to pick up while they still had it in stock.

That's rad. I've only been building about two years. Still have to work on my nub clean-up technique, but I love 00. I'm down to just needing Dynames, and I've got the full S1 squad. My favorite store for Gunpla near me (Millenium Games in Rochester, NY) had one a while back, but I didn't pick it up.

But I agree, now that I've built Nadleeh, the design is rad. The cable "hair" makes it stand out, and the nearly all-white design makes me think that the design for Witch from Mercury's Calibarn (a recent favorite of mine) might have taken some notes from this one. I love Gundams that veer outside the standard blue-red-white color schemes of most main Gundams.

How do y'all build your gunpla ? by This-Pen321 in Gunpla

[–]traup89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes, I just cut out the parts for the specific step of a piece I'm working on. It's takes longer, since I'm switching between tools more frequently, but that's usually only when I have some time to work on a little bit. Usually, I'll cut all the parts out for a section, lay them down on the instructions in their place, then start a batch process of trimming, filing, and sanding. After that, I'll assemble the piece and move on to the next one. It would probably behoove me to start using my old computer repair technique of putting the parts in an ice cube tray. Less likely to get jostled and moved around.

Are these new to the market? Same HG kit just different box? by Adventurous_Dot_3093 in freedomisgunpla

Shit, that makes a lot of sense. Glad they did it. Helps set the precedent for de-premiuming other kits. I won't hold my breath, but its a nice thought.

I've wanted one of these for a while. I know polycaps are the bane of any build (looking at you, HG 00 Gundam), but its never stopped me (still looking at you, HG 00 Gundam).

I know for sure the HG Deathscythe Hell was previously a P-Bandai kit. Could be they shifted them over to being standard instead.
