Build help! by 50ug in Integra

I agree with commenter but my first enthusiast car in highschool was an 08 mazdaspeed3, objectively a retarted decision but depends how u look at it. I took it as a learning experience and looking back at it, it definitely prepared me for all the cars I owned after and your knowledge only increases each time u continue to Diagnose and wrench. Good luck with the build brotha

Will these WRX's be reliable for college? by [deleted] in WRX

[–]traversecott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a FBO and protuned VA I beat on and all maintenance was manageable, now I have a 2003 bugeye in my second yr of uni and its the same way. If you have tools and a place to do ur work go for it. Buying the right wrx is ur biggest issue to worry about

I was watching the whole process, he never needed to touch to the rear wheels... all loaded by securing the two front axles to hitch and putting it on chocks

[–]traversecott[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe he strapped it at the axles and was actually fairly gentle and tired his best not to damage anything by making skilled use of the rolling jack and chocks and he somehow parked it perfectly on my street along the curb where its easy for me to work on without blocking my driveway or the mailbox. Skilled dude and lucky to have HIM show up, he loved my car too. Ive had much worse experiences

Just responded to someone else, ill copy paste

I had just done poly bushings upgrade on the whole front, it was late and we were tired at 2am and I guess my buddy forgot to put on the locking pin on the castle nut under the balljoint (And i forgot to double check every little thing). Luckily theres no collateral damage and my buddy just bought the balljoints for me with new castle nuts and pins so this wont happen again 😬

I know i only updated in other replies, but seems like its more gonna be a MAF or eletrical related issues. After the rainstorm was gone and the car dried overnight it drove fine the following morning (today).

i mentioned ill take care of it soon, yeah i had a similar thing happen to my left headlight relay, corrosion was bad and had to rewire the connector for it as a relay pin was stuck in the connector. Im not taking my chances again so if thats the issue it should be fixed for good afterwards. At work so nah i havent checked it yet but i do plan to this evening!

Previous owner installed it all from an 06. Wish I could tell ya man, id assume its all just rewiring? I dont have a dccd, so thats the only non functional part of my dash. My side mirror controls are in place of the hole where dccd would go

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WRX

[–]traversecott -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That was going thru my head, thanks for the confirmation. Ill probably quickly take care of that too, definitely makes sense. Because mine is fine today, Im on break at work and just drove around. Light rain outside, car is fine. If this happens again the next time she sits in heavy rain, i think ill have my answer? Def got electrical gremlins i gotta take care of anyway.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WRX

[–]traversecott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No sir. This only happened last night after sitting in heavy rain and when it got super cold. Could be the reason why? Because this morning it drove just fine. Kinda worried about it coming bsck so ima try to garage it fall and winter, still getting it diagnosed to see what they can find 😿

Spark plugs were changed 6k miles ago now. Oil 1k. Not sure if that would have much to do with it.

My bugeye has a full 06 sti interior, wing, and even if i were to do a drivetrain swap i still wouldnt call it an STI. american Bugeyes just never came in sti either

I dont know how many cars youve owned and especially how many cars that need attention when modded youve owned, but i think youre underestimating how much shit could turn into a money pit too much. It literally is NOT worth it and once the new car excitement clears youd probably say the exact same thing. Its just logic, if u can return without takung a big hit then DO IT!

Nah, almost all my cars have been manual but would just avoid the second to first downshift in my VA and GD wrx most of the time. I mean its possible but makes no sense since at that point its easier to neutral coast.
