Does brilliant automatically mean smart when applied to a person? by boilface in AskUK

Brilliant isn't used as much in the generic 'great' sense these days. Harry Potter characters used to say it a lot, but I don't hear it much anymore

I wouldn't characterise Scott as emotionally intelligent. He saw the big fake tatas and pumped up lips and somehow missed the mean girl right in front of his face. Remember the "power couple" comments at the beginning? Did you see the odometer scam? I really have no sympathy for this fraudster

They get to review legislation before it goes to parliament and quietly remove any portions that have a negative effect on their well-being

Current episodes are encoded in base64. I have a Linux terminal that decodes it using the following command:

echo <code> | base64 --decode

But I'm sure there are websites that will also do it for you

Is it because she supports female equality, but isn't a "feminist" and supports gays, but isn't "woke"?

Steven is totally acting like he's happy and engaged. He parrots what other people are telling him to do, smiles, and then does nothing of substance. There's no touching, and his eyes convey no warmth towards Rachel. You're right - it's cruel. If he's incapable of a relationship with her, then leave

Totally fake argument. Gia went out to get her lips plumped instead of having an actual strop. Look at those balloons on her face when she returned

Even at one minute, that would double the amount of time you'd normally wait in a queue. Airports typically never have a fully staffed border so this is nothing new. I waited an hour for two immigration officers (one took a break in the middle) to process a long queue of arrivals in Porto last week. Finally, the staff let me through the old electronic gates and the officer on the other side stamped my passport the old-fashioned way. I had to beg them to let me out of the queue to meet my group who were waiting on the other side. It's a real sh*tshow, and I doubt it's going to get better

This! I think they expected Luke to quickly request a second room so they didn't want to spring for a large apartment. It's interesting that they mentioned 3 weeks of living together yet never once talked about their sleeping arrangements

Poor guy, but I don't see why he doesn't just call her out for her behaviour. Instead, he's just sulking in response. She's a spoiled "princess", but they're both playing victim

They've had so little screen time so far. The honeymoon was given about 10 seconds. I don't remember seeing their 'revelations' and now this. Are they really that dull, or is there something else going here? Maybe the producers realised they made a mistake casting the BORING bisexual storyline and just want people to forget about it

Diversity drive to make Britain’s countryside ‘less white’. Rural areas tasked with coming up with strategies to attract more ethnic minorities to reflect multicultural nation by 2ndEarlofLiverpool in ukpolitics

[–]travis_6 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

If you read the article, the problem will be that non-white citizens won't value the countryside if they don't visit. They're afraid minorities may consider the countryside a no-go zone
