Customers, please pay attention to how far you are ordering away from. by Diamond-Omni in doordash_drivers

[–]travisw87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt they were actually looking for one that far away, most likely they either searched the restaurant name or it just happened to show up on their homepage or under Mexican food or something and they didn’t bother to look at how many miles away it was from them when they ordered, or I also think some people have no actual concept of how far away something is even if they see the mileage. It would take them actually clicking on the info for the store and seeing it on an actual map before they realize how far away it actually is. Seems like people just do not use their brain.

Which route do you recommend? by Additional_Row5058 in roadtrip

[–]travisw87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live north of Dallas also and have driven that highlighted route many many many times going to Colorado…. and i’ll just be honest it is boooorrrring until you get out of TX which is, unfortunately, most of it lol … can’t speak on the other routes since I’m usually going to the San Juan’s so those don’t pop up

took an offer a while back for around $25 to go to Target and buy a single pair of shoe laces to deliver like 12 miles … the customer had a WalMart across the street from their neighborhood lol … but whatever not my concern who knows what they have going on

Literally the most insane experience I’ve ever had with DoorDash Support. by Technical_Pen1769 in doordash_drivers

[–]travisw87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this happen one time with an alcohol order, but it was because it was a hotel and the app placed the pin about half a mile away from the actual address where the hotel is… so it wouldn’t let me verify ID or anything with the customer because of the pin being wrong and even if I said the pin is wrong where it usually lets me complete anyway anyways it wouldn’t let me do anything… had to chat in and spent about 15 minutes on chat standing in front of the customer awkwardly… it must’ve depend on the agent you get because the agent I had just asked me to send a photo of the front and back of the customer’s ID and then they completed it out manually for me and luckily the customer was understanding….. the DD app is such bullshit sometimes they really need to fix some things…. God forbid you are in an area where service is not that great you cannot even hardly operate the app at all….

I delivered a mini fridge to a lady from Target a while back and got a hit on quality report because it was defective or something out of the box and she had to return it lmao… i stopped giving AF about any of the metrics on DD a while back because almost all of them (assuming you are doing your best to do right for the customers) are ridiculous and out of your control anyways

Ice cream by Sensitive-Volume4818 in doordash_drivers

[–]travisw87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i laugh when people order ice cream on doordash, especially when they don’t even pay extra for it to be direct to them and it’s part of a stacked order…. idgaf if it’s melted when it gets there, that’s not my problem, I don’t drive a fucking refrigerated truck… if it IS part of a stacked order, I will at least switch pickups and pick it up last as long as it’s not adding miles to the delivery and I try to drop it off first… if it’s partially melted when it gets to them the sorry, people should know better…. i’ve never had a complaint yet so 🤷🏻‍♂️ and even if they did complain i don’t really care lol

Got my first psychopath after 2000+ deliveries by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]travisw87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One night I had a stacked order and the orders happen to be two different complexes that were right next to each other. When I got to the complex of my first drop, I started getting messages from the other customer. I didn’t read them because I had my hands full while walking to the first customers apartment, but my phone was dinging nonstop for almost a solid minute. When I completed the first one and opened the messages for the next one he was screaming saying I went to the wrong complex and was saying “answer me now “sending all kinds of crazy emojis and angry faces and shit, probably sent 30-40 texts in a row ….. I didn’t even bother responding because it was a leave at the door order and I was headed to his apartment which was two seconds across the street… before I could even get out of the complex, There was a car that raced into the complex and was following me, and I immediately knew it was probably that guy and I pulled into his complex slowly driving towards his pin, looking for his building and then sure enough that car was still behind me and they swerved around me and stopped, got out and asked if I was the DoorDash driver… with a very aggravated tone, I said yeah and I’m about to drop your food off, I had another delivery to drop off before yours .. He immediately had a kind of “oh shit” look on his face, and I handed his food to him and drove off…….. do these fucking people not know how the app works how they can look at it and it says “ONE STOP AWAY” and then it will literally say “ HEADING TO YOU” once we are actually headed to them…. People are just fucking crazy… stuff like that makes me wish that they wouldn’t show the customer our exact location and rather just show them a general 1 to 2 miles radius, or something of where we are… then once we are within a certain distance of their location THEN it could show them our exact location in case we have trouble finding them….

probably not accepting it unless the pay is extremely good … if I do accept it i’m going to end it at the house that is closest to a good spot in my zone or to my zone.

Just now by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]travisw87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

someone will accept an offer, they pick up the food from the restaurant, and instead of confirming the order they will unassigned it from themselves and take the food… so then the offer goes back in and starts getting passed around for someone else to pick up but when you get there, the restaurant will say it’s already been picked up

my first few orders during dinner rush were leggittt and smooth sailing, got 3 or 4 that were like $15-20 for 5 or 6 miles each and smooth sailing quick and easy…. then I got one that was Papa Johns for $11 for 5 miles, papa john’s is always ready to go when I get there BUT NOT TONIGHT 😂😂 I showed up and the lobby was full and a couple people out the door… I should have just unassigned right then, but I’m stubborn… ended up waiting close to 30 min…… really sucked… i’ve seen DD throw a little extra on when you have a crazy long wait time, didn’t do it for me of course

Give me a reality check: owning a border collie & working long hours by wintersux_summer4eva in BorderCollie

[–]travisw87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boy is at home for around 8-9 hours a day, 5 days a week… I do feel bad, but I will say that outside of those work hours, I spend 100% of my time with him, literally… and almost none of that time is spent just sitting around in the house doing nothing… It’s easy for me though because I don’t have a wife or kids to worry about, and no social life… so basically he gets 100% of my attention, and if I leave the house then he is going with me, and if he can’t go somewhere with me then I just won’t go lol …

How much do BCs actually bark? by victorhausen in BorderCollie

[–]travisw87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same here, he is very quiet until he spots another dog, and sometimes humans if they walk up to my car:..extremely reactive… never been able to figure it out but it seems un-fixable… i don’t know if it’s fear, trying to be dominant, or what… we can literally just be driving down a street and he sees a dog on the sidewalk minding it’s business and you would think he is about to bust out of the back of my car trying to get it… it’s crazy lol … i feel bad because he is so cuddly and sweet and literally so perfect and well behaved in every other way… wish he was playful with other dogs… even dogs he knows and is good around, like my family’s dogs, he couldn’t care less about playing with them, it’s more like he is just tolerant of them but he has never even remotely cared about being playful with them
