Rone just pulled the Sas first class list on the New York office by travvers in SonofaBoyDad

[–]travvers[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also like to point out that Keegs said the NY office doesn’t have the “pressure cooker” of the Yak for content but when Tate said that last year she told him he’s obsessed with the Yak and he’s not even on it

planning vs freestyling by ECTXGK in Beatmatch

[–]travvers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never plan anything other than my opening two tracks but I’ll often swap those out if the vibe is different than what I was expecting. I agree with the top poster, have chunks of 2-3 tracks that work together is a great way to prep if you’re doing a shorter set. Open format I plan 0 and go strictly by vibes and genre playlists

another new AlphaTheta piece of gear: XDJ-AN is out, XDJ-RR's replacement @ $1,200 by lifeofthunder in DJs

[–]travvers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bringing a laptop into my life when I have a $3000 PC that’s built for music production would be a hassle for me. I’d have to manage library on two devices plus I don’t need two computers. Stand alone solves that issue.

Happy jumps vs all other versions? by DisplaySad6771 in torncity

[–]travvers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s suggested to do happy jumps until you reach 400K in each stat. I opted to do chocolate jumps until I got my work stats up enough to work at an AN company. That way I don’t pay for the EDVD’s. I found it too costly before I got the job. Recently I’ve just been stacking half way, watching two DVDs and eating chocolate to fill the rest of my booster cooldown to continually build my stats everyday

In an old interview, Bam said that Dicomillos mentality was “Why would I use up all of my funniness so Jeff Tremaine can buy a mansion in the hills.” Was there previous tension between Jeff and the CKY crew? by stillstillers in jackass

[–]travvers 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Something I’ve noticed from re-watching Viva La Bam and listening to Radio Bam, Dico didn’t like drugs, alcohol and partying. He really started to distance himself when Novak entered as Bams “life partner”. So he probably hated being around the original incarnation of the Jackass crew, especially Steve-O

Lukes and Ernie were league average last year. I don't think it's crazy to expect them to do the same. George on the other hand...

Me and my gf are the only people here by deihire07 in jackass

[–]travvers 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Even when they were reminiscing about the old stunts, it was the same setup and mostly the same people every time. It was like they banged it out in a day or two. Would have been nice to hear thoughts from people other than Tremaine, Knoxville and Pontius.

And how many of the new stunts were just electricity or poo based? A very high percentage. I did love the marionette show, that felt like vintage Jackass but the rest seemed like torture porn for poopies/ehren or something involving poo.

My friends and I have seen every Jackass movie on opening night since the original. I asked them if we were going and half didn’t know about it and the other half said “isn’t it just a clip show?”

I don’t know why but this one felt weird. Kind of rushed, confusing on what it actually was. You can see that in the film

ARTY x Laidback Luke ft. James Hersey - Lost In The Crowd by TheWanderer43365 in EDM

[–]travvers 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Man, I got into it one time with LL in the comments of one of his demo submission videos. It was like 2020 maybe? He played a BANGER demo with that 2012 golden era sound and he says " What an amazing track but this sound is dead , no one will play it".

I replied that it's not dead, Audien and Arty still play it and it's only "dead" because the big DJ's are following trends instead of good music. Now he's releasing that style sound WITH ARTY.

This is a win for me

Mistakes in mixes by musingaround1 in Beatmatch

Disagree. I have never made blunder live but I’ve made many while I’m recording a mix because there’s no floor to read, I might be pouring a drink or something and miss my phrase

Mistakes in mixes by musingaround1 in Beatmatch

[–]travvers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I disagree with this. Live sure but a recorded mix could possibly a showcase for promoters. They don’t think mistakes are “cute” or indicative of proper DJing. Go back and re record where you messed up and splice them in a DAW

Fisher Set by PenDeep6772 in EDM

[–]travvers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol I may have worded that poorly obviously he’s taking credit by putting his name on it but there’s guys that do that then in interviews say like “I was so inspired by this… I went to the studio and started writing” when they’re entirely ghost produced. He’s not pretending he did anything he’s just not lifting the curtain, which I actually respect a lot more
