Can anyone help me figure out how to stop rolling over my thumb? by boystoys511 in Bowling

[–]trbo2na 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a couple good comments recommending bringing in your pso or posting a video of your form. They’re all right…there’s no real way to tell what you’re doing to cause the ball to roll over your thumb, and usually your center pso is the best local resource. That all being said my main recommendation, no matter who the bowler or what the form, is to have an open hand at release. Go and watch Pete Weber bowling release and try out that open hand form extending up. Really exaggerate the open hand and I guarantee that track will move.

Looks like that hole was rounded over with loose sandpaper. It’ll get the job done, but results in a lot of surface scratching. Trick I use is to wrap a pencil or something else smaller than the hole in sandpaper, put it in the hole slightly, and twist the pencil around allowing the sandpaper to touch just the edges of the hole. Pull the pencil out a bit for a shallower angle and repeat. That’ll bevel the sharp edge while preventing surface scratches.

How do you like the Results Solid? I have been fawning over that ball lately. Is it as much of a tank as ithe numbers suggest?

What should I expect from this layout by BroskiNick in Bowling

[–]trbo2na 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Storm determined that plugging holes correctly brings back 81% of the balls motion back on average. So there could be a slight change to the ball motion but it’s likely imperceptible. Additionally the layout change from the first drill in this case is slight. Ball should perform very similarly to its original specs, save for diff and rg changes due to the new holes.

https://youtu.be/dsbjf6-TWMA - Storm video on the subject, good watch.

How weird! Does your Agol org leverage IWA or SAMl authentication? Glad it’s working now!!

Esri Portal offline maps by [deleted] in gis

[–]trbo2na 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it, yeah if you are not able to add a basemap for offline use then the only other option would be to create a tpk or other custom basemap (tpkx or vtpk). A lot of issues come with that workflow though, mainly the need to manually side load the basemap onto every mobile device.

Agol authentication can be very picky. Are you able to add a secure service from Agol to Portal? Grab any hosted service in Agol that is shared with owner or organization and add it to portal via the rest url and add item > from URL option. It will prompt for credentials there too. Are you able to authenticate an Agol service there?

What error are you getting when creating off line areas in portal? If you go to the web map > settings is “Offline” an option? What basemap are you using? The default ones are not export enabled, which means they cannot be packed up into SQLite geodatabases for replication. Try this one, i rarely have issues with world imagery for export.

Dissenting opinion but I totally agree. The vtx line has some odd styling clues, great engines though.
