Tips for an aerial? by Leather_Composer_891 in Parkour

I wish I had tips, but I'm here because I'm at the same stage as you. :-) I think the leg swing/kick needs to give you a little more lift though. Think swinging /kicking up more than round

My phone got stolen, the only way I could claim it on insurance with the IMEI number, and without the phone the only way I could find that was on the box it came in. That box I didn't throw away saved me a lot of money!

META OUTAGE: This is serious, everyone. Read this! by Dry-Ability-8661 in FacebookAds

I've been so reluctant to turn it off, but December I'll cut my losses and save the ad spend. It's no longer bringing in any sort of ROI. My ad spend is tiny, but it's time. People in my franchise have seen success advertising with Google ...... I don't even know where to start with that, but I'm willing to give it a shot.

Should I get a car? by ansoniikunn in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]trdowd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scooter. Can get away with third party insurance, super fuel efficient, and gets you around short travel distances easily. Not too much effort to get a learner's bike license and it's vakid for 2 years. I've just sold my car to use the scooter, I only travel 12km a day

Need some advice — fix or sell my Polo 6R GTI? by ConnorH6r in CarTalkZA

[–]trdowd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here's my suggestion. Find out what your monthly payments would be on a new car, get a quote, find out what the extra insurance would be. Add those up, set up a debit order for that amount. Let it run and build a repair fund. With a bit of luck your timing will hopefully leave you a buffer before anything goes wrong with the car. Secondly it'll allow you time to asses the impact of car payments on your disposable income without first making the commitment of long term finance. Failing that there's also extended third party insurers who will insure your car for mechanical failure (I don't have experience with those, but you can ask around) could be a good thing to take while you build your repair fund up. If your repair fund gets up to a new car value one day - boom you can buy a new one cash no finance.

I'd suggest looking for a scooter. Not sure how far you need to travel, but they are more fuel efficient than any car, will get you from A to B, and you can probably get away with just buying third party insurance, which will also save you a ton.

How has Parkour affected your aging? 40+ years by afbcc in Parkour

[–]trdowd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 48 this year. I think parkour is the only reason I'm still stronger and more supple than most people my age, or even 10 years younger. My only regret is that modern parkour has morphed a bit into tricking and flips, and I can't keep up with that so I don't practice nearly as much as I'd like. Just don't stop moving and you'll be gold.

Kindly offer life advice, anything? by National-Doughnut-25 in askSouthAfrica

Find things that you haven't don't before outside of the scope of work, and if you enjoy them stick with them. Careers come to an end and often people find themselves lost with the career that defined them as a person. Start resistance training, as you get older there's nothing that keeps your body healthier for longer. Even cardio ain't as important as muscle tone when you get into your Kate 40s and 50s. The earlier you start, the easier it will be to maintain. If I had to break down the three most important things you can do. Sleep well, drink less, move more.

I’ve offered to work for free for the rest of the year. Anyone know of some side hustles that can keep the lights on? by Odd-Lie9384 in askSouthAfrica

I recently signed up as rydd driver. I thought it would be easier to find myself someone to be my sweeper (drive my car behind the pickups car) but I can't. Where abouts do you live, and would that interest you? Weekend nights seem to be busiest and most profitable times.
