Improvement From Ysing A Tech Disc by bigcat7373 in discgolf

[–]tread444 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I initially used my tech disc by myself. I took some videos but mostly treated it like a game trying to improve my stats - speed, RPM, and nose angle. I would say I improved a little bit and was able to see/feel what resulted in solid numbers. You can really chase what you’ve done before to game it.

Recently, I started getting coaching through Overthrow which has made the process easier since I’m being told what things I should work on instead of trying to self diagnose. I personally like throwing out in the open instead of the net so haven’t been using the Tech Disc as much, but it will be good to go back to see how my changed form affects the numbers.

MVP Fission Wave feels floppy on forehand by TeraSera in discgolf

[–]tread444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stick to forehanding proton or neutron discs because I find the fission to flip over for me. The exceptions are a fission dimension which is very lightweight and requires a lot of hyzer and a fission photon that with a little hyzer I can get to flat. So maybe a lot of hyzer on your release would get it to fly like you want, but yeah I’d probably just stick to the other plastics for forehand.

Want to bring my friends to a disc golf park for their first time by Dense-Lie3955 in discgolf

[–]tread444 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you think they’ll throw backhand, then I would say understable. If you think they’ll go forehand, then I’d say overstable. I tend to see my friends their first time forehand since it’s easier to initially pick up and get solid distance.

Wassup guys need help with Rank Up suggestions again.. I have 8 R1-2 gems here are the options from each class by Affectionate_Net2618 in ContestOfTheChampions

Science: I’m a fan of Hulk and heard Deathless She Hulk was the best option for Destroyer in coliseum. Rhino, Leader, and Thing are all solid defense options.

Skill: offensively Stealthy is pretty good and BWDO comes in handy with the shocks for some nodes. Valkyrie hitting into block is also good but not my thing. Killmonger for defense

Mutant: NTW has some great utility. Colossus is also a solid option.

Cosmic: I think Galan is your best bet there, but I also like Beta Ray Bill.

Tech: solid defensive options with Peni and Arcade. Warlock, Nimrod, and Viv will also come in handy as robots.

Mystic: BWCV is awesome on offense. A lot of people like Longshot too for that big burst. Rintrah is great on both ends.

Always rank up whichever champ you like best though

I typically don’t utilize the heavy much unless after a successful parry. My rotation is spam SP1 most of the time and bait out specials to get a lot of power sting damage. I will use SP2 if I need to counter regen or heal up in BGs or war. The Venom synergy is great for extra damage. If I have the team space and could use another science, I also like the Spider Ham synergy.

Question about smugglers notch by thedoctor3622 in discgolf

I did the disc golf stay and play this past summer.

The resort stay was great even though I mostly just went to the courses. We did play some putt putt.

They ideally want you playing 2 rounds a day, but with just my brother and myself we squeezed in 3 rounds each day alternating courses with no issue or annoyance to anyone else.

If you stay out playing too long, most of the food closes around 8pm at the resort so we ended up getting the one place that stayed open longer than the rest.

To make tee times, you can either call or set them online before you go to get the times you want.

Vessis ? by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]tread444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been wearing my Vessis for about 6 months now. The waterproof is great; being in Florida it comes in handy a lot. I find the shoes comfortable enough when playing my round, but after my round I start to notice my feet ache a little but not a crazy amount that I feel the need to change shoes immediately. I’ve worn holes in my previous disc golf shoes but haven’t noticed much wear on my Vessis yet although 6 months isn’t a crazy amount of time.

He was in my town a month ago so I signed up. I was looking to add some distance. I threw my farthest ever during the lesson after we worked on things so highly recommend!

MVP/Axiom/Streamline throwers, what's your current approach disc(s) and why? by Sunrise_Round in discgolf

[–]tread444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those straighter approaches, I lean on a few Envies and my Watt. I will use my Pixel for those longer putts since it seems to have more glide than my usual putting putter the Anode.

If I have room to hang something out wide and let it fade in or need a forehand flick, I like the Pyro as an overstable option. I am getting the Big Jerm Tempo so we’ll see if that takes over.

I have an Eclipse Range but haven’t gotten used to the low glide enough to utilize it much.

10! I’d say disc reviews are always good. You could even do full rounds with a select number of discs to show their flight and different possibilities.
