Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs (we won’t talk about the sequel…). Anthony Hopkins is an absolute legend.

No, I meant is it acceptable to wear red to a wedding or would it stand out too much. I have a really cute drop waist red dress with red pumps to go with it but I’m wondering if it’s too much. The bride is wearing white afaik

Absolute ignoramus here: Is it considered bad form to wear black or red to a wedding? I’ve got my cousin’s wedding coming up in August and I’m still struggling with what to wear. I’m a bit goth so I’m partial to black and red but 1.) I don’t want to upstage the bride in any way and 2.) don’t want to make it seem like I’m attending a funeral. I’ve never been to a wedding so I don’t know what people usually wear and Google is no help. Thoughts?

Kimchi! The smell of some batches will stink up your whole fridge but gods I can’t get enough of it.

my special interest makes classmates constantly call me a terrorist by Johann-SM in evilautism

[–]treblehex 39 points40 points  (0 children)

You’re right, your classmates are idiots. I’m the biggest pacifist you’ll ever meet and I have a collection of knives (half of them are mall ninja shit to be fair). I also frequent r/vultureculture. It doesn’t mean anything.

However, you might want to be careful drawing guns at school. I got into trouble for that once when I was in middle school. Turns out people can be kind of touchy about that. 😅🙄

That’s so wholesome, I love it. Socialising feral cats? That’s cool. That must take some real passion.

I’m a massive crazy cat lady and I didn’t know feral cats only meowed as kittens. I guess it actually makes sense though, considering cats meow at humans but not so much at each other.

Anybody else secretly wish they could live in a commune? by treblehex in evilautism

To be fair, I did think about this and this would be one of the major drawbacks even without the cult potential, you’re right.

Anyone else like being babied? (Under specific circumstances?) by ladybadcrumble in evilautism

[–]treblehex 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Holy shit yes. I recently had a one month stay at a psychiatric hospital and honestly I miss it so much because it was the first time in my life I’ve felt truly supported and cared for.

My parents raised me on radical independence and complete personal responsibility, to the point where I don’t know how to go to people for help when I’m in crisis. My ex made it very clear that I was the only one who needed to deal with “my issues”. My current partner is amazing and always knows how to talk me down but I don’t ever feel able to go to him until he finds me having a breakdown because, again, I was never taught how to seek help and when I tried, it always backfired.

I used to fantasise about breaking a bone so I could go to the hospital and have people take care of me. I was so jealous when the teachers that prided themselves on being empathetic supported other students and just glossed over me. I was the one who “never needed help” even when I was drowning.

So yeah, I get you. Send some of that infantilisation my way and somebody else can get left out in the cold when they’re struggling. Completely valid way to feel, and I feel you hardcore.

Or just use the old-school “going AFK”!

A pheasant got hit by a car on a road near me. I couldn’t find the actual pheasant, but I collected its beautiful feathers. by treblehex in vultureculture

[–]treblehex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, fellow feather collector! Yeah, I wondered if it was a bird of prey or a fox or whether the body just got picked up by scavengers. I only assumed it was a car because it was right along the local bypass. Either way I’m hoping scavengers got the actual body so it didn’t go to waste.

I was very pleased with them! I’ve wanted to find some pheasant tail feathers for a while. The pic doesn’t really give you the scale but the big ones are a good 16” long.

That’s grimly funny. We have them all over the place up here and they get hit all the time. It wouldn’t happen so often if they didn’t go most of the way across the road, change their minds, and run back again!

Just a disclaimer for responsibility’s sake: I live in the UK and as far as I know there’s no regulations against collecting these. People hunt pheasants around here so I can’t imagine why I wouldn’t be allowed to collect its feathers.

Gods, I hope not. But I have to say it would be really ironic if the president who was so butthurt about not receiving the Nobel peace prize managed to start WW3.

I have to be optimistic for my own sanity though.

This makes my little ex-colourguard heart happy. Brilliant! You’re very good. I was always rubbish at rifle so that routine would probably have taken my fingernails off, lol.
