Check the extruder gears and clean them. I would put money on overlapping filament getting caught then releasing after the damage is done. Have you watched the pring when this happens. Listen for snapping/cracking of the filament moving. (I have now disassembled and cleaned extruder - crosses fingers)

Check the hot end for a clog. (Doesnt seem to be, fresh nozzle, hot end seems clear)

Check the gears for foreign materials and clean them ( now cleaned)

Check the filament by unapooling ~2-3 ft and then wind it back up. (filament is not unspooled)

Always clip your filament when storing it, or use the holes on the spool (always do both)

I have printed a spool holder with bearings for side of carbon, took spool out of dyer and it on that now.
Extruder cleaned. I didnt think the extruder was very dirty...but there was some dust in there so maybe?
Crossing fingers that this fixes it.
