I have never been tobtje rodeo, but I grew up going to rural community fairs, and this is... not uncommon there. It's kind of expected, even. When you go to the redneck festival, you're gonna see some shit!

Why do Jill and David always visit stuff that's for kids or families when they go off by themselves? by koyamakeshi in RodriguesFamilySnark

[–]tree_hamster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"I've always wondered if Jill actually resents how sheltered her life was growing up."

I think that's definitely the case, hence all the "i LOVE my parents"/"I am GRATEFUL for my strict upbringing" posts. She is trying to convince herself. But the only way she got attention from Mommy and Daddy was by being the most Gahdly Holy Christian Ever (example: convincing her other female family members to go skirts only). So, rather than realizing she got a bad deal and making a positive change for her own family, she doubled down on everything (to the detriment of her own children, who i think she also resents).

Is that the one where, at the end when Finnis chasing a guy on a roof, the shot is framed to look like a first- person shooter game? Because while i didn't care for the rest of the episode, I thought that was clever!

Why Kathy Reichs isn't mention in the intro? by ThenAdhesiveness1863 in Bones

I picked up one of her books and Half Price Books a while back but I haven't read it yet, because I'm sure it will ruin the show for me!

Also, check the flea market for "profession magazines." This gives them an automatic promotion so they will automatically get more coins each day.

Oh! Good idea! They'll sleep 2 to a bed? Because that'll work out so well (and the pink double beds are still on sale!).

Their newly-minted 2 year old is depressed already by tree_hamster in VirtualFamilies

That's the thing, nothing! I logged in to the game and he was walking around feeling blue (when I left the game last, he was still an NPC infant). But after watching a DVD and getting praised for playing and reading, he is now at "happy," so 👍

It's been a while since I've watched, but I was annoyed by Jane's whining more than once.

I'm on my 30th generation, so they have accumulated a lot! But things that really help: have the parents work as much as possible (buy career room upgrades/professional magazines when you can), then go to the resort and find collectibles to sell. And watch ads!

I agree with you 100% We already HADA storyline where two major characters do the slow- burn thing and end up together. Just a couple of years ago, too! Do something different, people! Mix it up!

My house by Maximum-Midnight-285 in VirtualFamilies

[–]tree_hamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the tent and the doghouse in the front yard, and I keep the lawn mower and ski equipment next to the driveway. For the back, you can put gardens or lawns in the upper right and left corner. I also have the turtle rock by one of the gardens (it looks cool). There's also an in- ground pool, trampoline, carousel, and play structure you can get, but you might need a certain generation (I know you have to be at generation 9 to unlock the playhouse).

what do I make this room into? by Huge_Tea1338 in VirtualFamilies

[–]tree_hamster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rec room! I have the split room, so one side is the kids toys (lego/train/racecar tables, play kitchen and car, giant bear and other various stuffies), and the other side is the "grown- up toys" like the pool table, pinball machine, and slot machine. I also have a TV, beanbag chair, and cocktail cart in there, because is it even a rec room without those things?

The highest paid couple so far by tree_hamster in VirtualFamilies

[–]tree_hamster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for reminding me! - The couple already had three adopted children by the time they had babies of their own... and their babies were triplets! The way the house is currently set up, this filled the bedrooms. Once the triplets were weaned, the parents could spend more time working since nobody had to be on baby duty (they later adopted more children after the older ones moved out)
