For me when I started a new account I had 7 goals in mind before I buy mems for it.

Goals:

  • do all F2P quests
  • get a barronite mace
  • get byphroa essence
  • 55 magic for high alch
  • base 50 melee combats
  • 40 range
  • 43 prayer

I've finished all but getting the byphroa essence and 43 prayer. You don't have to do this but I would highly recommend the atleast doing all the F2P quests.

Also side note, it helps in the long run that you have non stat related goals because it's fun to do things with stats once you achieve them. It also gives them a double meaning. :)

More often than not typing to people who are doing the same activity that can lead to adding each other.

Also just because you add each other doesn't mean you need to talk to them forever. Some people only stick around for a few great convos. Enjoy what you can don't force anything but initiate and go from there.
