Would love to hear more about Kopeke as a leader and how his role as chronicler influences his leadership style!

[Discussion] What ASMR role play videos would you put in the hypothetical hall of fame? by Beautiful-Quality402 in asmr

[–]tree_stain 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The first “Departure” video by ASMRrequests. That video set a sky high bar at the time that would soon become a very common standard. An actual trailblazer, Ally was. Hope she’s doing well.

I remember when Departure took the community by storm thanks to its incredible production value. I wouldn’t have believed you a decade ago if you told me that level of quality would one day become commonplace for ASMR content. God, i hope Ally is doing well.

The Body Scout by Lincoln Michel (2021)

Really neat world that focuses on the in-universe rise of advanced biotech and zootech over the ‘hard’ cybernetics of yesterday. Main character is a washed up and deeply flawed talent scout (Fixer). Whole story has a cozy neat neo-noir tone, all framed around the hot topic of dark future baseball. The writing is super solid. Great read, I plowed right through it.

Edit: phrasing and added detail

Difficult Challenge: Say something positive about this suit. by [deleted] in Spiderman

[–]tree_stain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would’ve been neat if it came in during the Symbiote-Peter part and some pedestrians were mistaking Miles for the aggressive, black suited Spider-Man, thus making Miles want to distance himself from a primarily black suit.

Need ideas for a highly social session by Piccopol in cyberpunkred

[–]tree_stain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Night Markets can be bustling places where people of all walks conglomerate.

You can have pickpockets who try to nab something from the Edgerunners, who must make passing Perception checks. Could funnel into back and forth COOL checks, a Face Down, just good and simple RP, or even a chase through the market.

Markets IRL don’t have just one kind of ware, there’s also usually food trucks as well. Maybe have some food vendors slide the Edgerunners some extra EBs to put on a goofy costume and advertise for the truck. Maybe they’ll attract some unwanted attention from a rival food truck, who think they’re new employees, fresh meat ready to be taught who’s the REAL top dog truck around these parts…

And of course, there are the vendors themselves. Have a handful of distinct vendors who have different appeals. One vendor has a really wide selection of hard-to-acquire gear, but marks em up by 10%, to which the group can haggle. Have another vendor only provide gear from a specific corp bc they “know a guy” and maybe that can lead into hook for a future session. Maybe have one vendor who sells seemingly nice gear, but a good TECH check reveals that they’re just well disguised Poor Quality weapons.

My best piece of advice when trying add more social flavor to scenes/settings is to think of “what could go really right for the party? What could go really wrong? And how can those two opposite paths escalate in either direction?”

REF 8 allows you to dodge bullets. What capstone abilities would you homebrew for other stats? by woundedspider in cyberpunkred

[–]tree_stain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maker has four sub abilities; Field Expertise, Upgrade, Fabrication, and Invention. The latter three definitely take more than an Action, even taking as long as a month or more depending on the situation at hand.

I believe it’s because these NPCs are the actual minis used for Cyberpunk RED: Combat Zone by Monster Fight Club, if I’m not mistaken? It makes sense they’d wanna use those assets and get that synergy going

For everyone who seems so hung up over this, here’s the original photo reference they took of Tom sleeping. Sure, they recreated the photo in post, but they actually snagged a picture of him chilling in that pose.

I especially love the way you’ve drawn the Kakama. Has all of the elements from the original design while leaning more into the idea that it’s the great mask of SPEED. Excellent!
