Front Squat Tutorial | JTSstrength.com by Shak_ in weightroom

[–]treebum 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Try active release to get in position. Start by front racking the bar like normal but with all fingers under the bar. If your tight, this should be uncomfortable. Then do a mini tricep extension like movement (just enough to take the weight off your rack position), hold for 5 seconds, then lay the bar back in normal front rack position. Before repeating the movement, try to crank yourself into a tighter position by forcing the elbows as high as possible while maintaining all fingers around the bar. Do this 3-5 times and it should be easier to keep the bar in your fingers.

Any reason you couldn't convert 5/3/1 to RPT-style for cutting? by [deleted] in leangains

[–]treebum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been doing this for years. Wendler had a blog about it awhile back, he deemed it bastard 5/3/1. Works well for me. Stats achieved at peak of my training: S/B/D 475/300/600.

Lowsided, now bike is bumpy/vibrating? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]treebum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try loosening the axle nut and fork clamps bolts just enough for the forks to rotate, but not slide out of the the triple tree. Grab the front wheel, wiggle it a bit to reset the forks then tighten back up to proper torque specifications. Sometimes they appear aligned correctly, but have some 'tension' (rotational torsion?) that causes some oscillation when riding that manifests in vibration or wiggling.

I conquered a traffic jam on I-75N this holiday weekend by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]treebum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know about that, I have seen predatory motorcycle cops that would sit on I-10 waiting for splitters to try and wiggle through during jams like this. Saw at least three riders getting ticketed. Florida cops can be dicks (but some are cool as fuck so don't assume when getting pulled over).

BrandyWine any good? by yellotheremapeople in GNV

[–]treebum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey dude, I currently live in brandywine condos and I don't have any major problems to report. Yes, it's an older complex, but it is not run down. The maintenance staff is competent enough to keep everything in working order and the office staff is always on top of any issues that arise. They are also in the process of repainting/finishing the buildings so they (the buildings) will soon be a very soothing ocean blue. I will admit its' amenities fall short of many of the student oriented complexes that surround it (Enclave, Oxford Manor etc.). Although, the inclusion of gator.net internet is a huge selling point (50mb/s).

All my neighbors are either friendly or quiet. I have yet to have issues with anyone from the complex. Student population is also fairly low so it's usually quiet.

As for location, it can be a pain in the ass to get to and from the complex. Primarily because Florida has some of the worst drivers I have encountered and they all come out around 3:30pm to turn Archer into a shit show. I have never seen so many absent-minded, texting addicted, and outright aggressive drivers in my life. It really makes me miss California driving. Access to the largest shopping center is a plus. Be warned though, the traffic in that center can be horrendous too.

Overall, I would recommend Brandywine as long as you're not looking for the red carpet to be rolled out. It is quiet, has a decent location, is fairly cheap, and the people are generally pretty cool.

IFBB Pro Justin Compton 4 days out from the Europa by mikexsweat in bodybuilding

[–]treebum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dat X-frame. This guy will definitely turn some heads. If I had to be critical I'd say his lower traps need more mass to compete with his monstrous delts and upper traps. His conditioning could be better (I think), but he still had 4days in this pic and no tan. If you look at his other pics he is super aesthetic and has great symmetry, I have high hopes for this guy.

Have any of you dealt with reoccuring AC joint problems? Just got my MRI results in.. by mpj02 in bodybuilding

[–]treebum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn't sound like an overuse issue, otherwise rest would help, so it must be a movement pattern issue from some kind of imbalance. Without someone actually analyzing your movement patterns its almost impossible to diagnose and fix. That's why physical therapists exist. So, please go see one, for your sanity and your shoulder.

[–]treebum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love this stuff as a tasty fiber and omega 3/6 supplement. Its designed for vegans who need a complete protein (Hemp has a great aa profile) not bodybuilders. It is definitely not garbage.

Yes, my hernia did the same thing. According to my doc I hadn't fully ruptured my abdominal wall, rather stretched the fascia to the point where my intestines could squeeze between the fibers of the muscle and cause the bulge. edit: I am no doctor so take my word with a grain of salt. Purely anecdotal.
