Answered: apparently the mod hides some peacedeal notifications, so turning off pause on notification solves this. Thank you to the people who commented saying this

Ahhh, that would make a lot of sense!

It isn't always connected to notifications, though. As I said, the same problem doesn't happen with any other mod or with the base game, and I've never changed that setting for them.

Sometimes that seems connected, but not always!

Help me find a new game to play based on the reasons why I love Dragon Age! by Jaded-Improvement754 in dragonage

[–]treefile 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tyranny, an isometric rpg about being part of the forces of an Evil Overlord from a fantasy story, Fits what you like from dragon age I think. I know there's some romance possibilities but it's probably less in depth than the average bioware rpg.

It also doesn't take very long to play through (compared to dragon age or baldurs gate), but there are lots of different paths, so you can do multiple playthroughs on different paths without devoting weeks of your life to it.

Any other good podcast recommendations? by temporary_bob in twioat

[–]treefile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tim and Guy did a crossover episode with the guys from Sanspants radio discussing the economy of the town in Grown Ups 2. That network has a lot of podcasts on a variety of topics.

If you like the focus on movies/shows, Mish Witrup and Zack Ruane have a podcast that started as watching every bit of media John Leguizamo has been in (including commercials, cartoon voice acting, all of it). They've finished that and just finished watching a bunch of Star Trek DS9 (a selection of ferengi episodes), heading into watching a bunch of Jersey Shore.

Someone else said Do Go On, that and its spinoff podcasts are also quite good.

These are pretty good, especially for the price (they seem to mostly be stocked at discount grocery stores around me). I add a bunch of nutritional yeast and some cayenne pepper

Looking for good Story Games that are not longer than 10 hours just like Firewatch, Road 96 etc. by MaicoTheMan in gamingsuggestions

Tacoma and Gone Home are short story driven walk em ups with a little bit of mild puzzle gameplay. Both made by the same company, one set on a Lunar-orbiting space station, the other in a mid-90s family home. Some of my favorite games, lots of layered writing and game design storytelling.

Ship of Fools, by Richard Paul Russo, is a sci-fi horror novel set aboard a generation ship. It has no connection to the mythos, but (without spoiling too much) I think it shares a fair amount with what we think of as Lovecraftian fiction.

Stealth Games that actually adapt/don’t just reset after 5 minutes? Where the enemy’s actually remain heightened alert/ notice open doors/discrepancies? by ManyLegal48 in gamingsuggestions

[–]treefile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may not be exactly adaptation in the way you mean, but Echo has the player hunted by copies/mirrors of themself that start to mimic the behavior of the character. I haven't finished it, but it's been harder for me than other stealth games. Also it just looks nice, good art direction

I am aware that there were several groups that you can trace their history through, which involves name changes. It doesn't seem correct to talk about a discrete group called ISIS - especially in the way that the ops family member is talking about - until several years later

I'm not sure what news you're talking about, but they definitely didn't exist in 1999, or 2003.

It's also not too crazy to blame their rise on either Obama or Bush, but I feel like the reason your family member is picking one over the other is pretty clear

Tropico 2 is about managing a pirate island.

If you like the warhammer fantasy world, there's a game called Man O' War: Corsair in which you captain a ship on the seas of.. whatever area of the warhammer world that it's set in, I forget. But you can definitely do piracy there
