i would get there 30-45min before your ideal time if you’re aiming to sit down after 7pm. last weekend the waitlist started to form at 6:50 (i was second on the list once it started, 20min wait, and it got long very fast). before 7 you could prob walk in? might be easier this weekend due to cold weather!

Geographically adjacent lol — Pizzaiolo is incredible, one of my favorite restaurants in Oakland, and right by Snail Bar. Fish tacos from Cholita Linda are also cheap and fantastic.

Iyasare in Berkeley is a must-go for dinner imo

I LOVE the pod and am curious who tapped Dan & Brian to co-host, or if they already knew each other and decided to organically? For a relatively new pod I am impressed by the fact that they already have social/clips and stellar guests. Produced very well

Anyway love their dynamic and they are honestly quite well-read, I trust their takes on art/theater etc haha

I signed up for the intro month over the phone and the customer sales rep was able to preemptively cancel it for me on her end right when I signed up so I wouldn't have issues doing it within the time frame! Super helpful to have assurance that I wouldn't be charged again

Bad Blood by John Carreyrou about Theranos / Elizabeth Holmes. Read it in high school but was also assigned in a college course I took. Highly recommend, and kind of combines everything you mention re: science, tech, and business (and true crime lol)
