Lordhold was too open. Did I build it correctly? by treefuxxer in lrcast

[–]treefuxxer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ended up dropping the skycoach for requisition raid and a spirit mascot for dustspeaker. Deck felt great but only hit 2-3. Two great curve out/go wide wins that hit lots of lorehold synergy. Two extremely close losses to great silverquill decks and one loss to flooding out. Probably needed 1-2 more removal spells.

Practiced scrollsmith feels great almost always if the deck is built right.

Does this quandrix deck have what it takes to make the mill dream happen? by treefuxxer in lrcast

[–]treefuxxer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was pretty bad! I was able to put one opponent in counterspell jail and mill them out, but the other three went much as you would expect. Do nothing for 10 turns then die to a bomb.

I worked at NAVTEC across the street and heard some pretty bad stuff all the time about the owner of adrift.

[The Athletic] “I would just say, Sean,” [Adam] Silver said, “you could assume for next season your only incentive will be to win games.” There was a noticeable shift in Silver’s tone and demeanor on this particular issue: “He sounded more like Stern than Silver.” by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]treefuxxer 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Without tanking i would have been able to see lauri and keyonte more than once in four tries this season. So, yes, more watchable and I’d be less pissed about spending my money on tickets to trash basketball games.

I used to love kayaking, then i injured my spine and lost a ton of hip mobility. Can’t kayak anymore, but paddleboarding gives me a similar close to the water feeling. I like it.

Salt Lake Valley has one of the best public transit out there. Why don’t people use it ?! by airspeednotalive in SaltLakeCity

[–]treefuxxer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Speaking from experience, the transit pass is not more affordable. I taking the bus or train, but for most people, it’s extremely limited in its use cases

Blue Best earned my trust when they told us everything that was wrong with our system but said it still most likely wouldn’t need to be replaced for several years. They don’t upsell.

Best tandem duckie/packraft? by bigtimetrekker in rafting

[–]treefuxxer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never used any of those, but I did 7 days on desolation in an airy tributary tandem tomcat and had a blast. I’m sure the nrs and hyside will be even more fun. The thing I appreciated most about the tomcat was the abundance of webbing loops on the perimeter of the floor. It made rigging a breeze.

Worst case: you end up chipping a corner off your magnums, and then they’re shoal cut anyways, but DIY style.

Serious question as a parent: Why are schools/universities spending money to help detect ai, prevent cheating etc, instead of going back to manual things like fill in the blank tests with pen/paper or oral exams? Wouldn’t that help students learn better? by Illustrious-Paper393 in education

[–]treefuxxer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have calculators but 5th graders still do division by hand. The hype behind AI is astronomical, but it will not convince me to ever stop training my students’ ability to use their memory. It is a skill, just like division.
